Is this good value?

Seems like good value compared with the other cars available on Autotrader. I can't actually see if its LHD.
What is the catch likely to be?

A car we were offered and oddly enough bid more than it is advertised for but it never turned up for us to view. Was supposed to be UK new but then called back to say a German import, (although this car appears to be right hand drive). Certainly not a lot of money on the face of it. As with all things (and probably more so in this case), proceed with caution and make sure you know exactly what you`re looking at if you decide to take the plunge. Always a little suspicious of cars advertised by a garage for less money than we would pay in the trade providing no nasty stories but it might be your lucky day and you may have happened upon that elusive bargain!

I bought my 993 C4S for a good 7k under value.
It was taken in p/x at a VW garage, and they called their trade contact. He was used to taking in polos, golfs, etc that were too old for VW main dealer to pass on.
The garage told him it was a 1995 carrera 4 in lhd, so he looked that up, knocked a grand off, and bought it. It turned up at his house, he stuck it in autotrader for a quick 2k profit and sold in a day to me (autoclassica and RSJ were among the people i pipped to that post! sorry Joel).
What i saw in the picture was that it was a '96 C4S. When i turned up to look at it i was in disbelief. Special order colour, special colour comfort leather, sat nav, 8 way heated seats and all the fixtures and fittings of a bona-fide Carrera 4S. It needed new fronts discs, but after going over it for 4 hours i was happy enough to leave a grand deposit.
Right place, right time?

i still miss that car, it was a stunner

The difference is that in this case the owner of the car (who may not be the garage selling it incidentally), contacted me more than 3 weeks ago, we know exactly what the car is and bid accordingly. The garage is now advertising the car for less money than we bid ! So assuming there are no nasty stories the chap could pop round and 15 minutes later walk away with several thousand pounds more money than it`s in the paper for !
