PROBLEM
After having my letter of intent with a dealer for over a couple years (and everytime I have asked them if they had any news, it would seem that I knew more than them), I very recently decided that I would try a AM Vantage. Guess what - FANTASIC. Worth it for the noise alone!!
Convincved the wife (never easy) that this was the way to go. The decision making process was made easier by the fact that that we always seem to have issues with the OPC with existing GT3
So last few nights we have been thinking about Aston colours, options, etc, and organising to send a deposit.
Guess what, got up this morning, sun out, roads fairly dry - that'll be a Saturday morning blast then. Two hours of glorious fun.
I've just got home, seen this, and I'm starting to think erm' 415bhp, looks quite good in White, nice seats, Alcantara interior, shift up light in rev counter, etc, etc.
Now to my problem.
Having waited over two years for this, I'll now wait another two years for the AM Vantage, where as
I can probably have this in a few months time.
I know the two cars are not exactly like for like, but it would be used as the GT3 is now, as daily transport by the wife; and me at the weekends.
What do I do????

Wow! 415 normally aspirated bhp & 8400rpm. Standard steel discs 350mm all round?...all good news!
If the RS being is going to be a widebody, even if they raid the Pfaffenhausen branch of Halfords for the "carbon look" parts, surely it will be heavier than the Gt3 version?
A narrow bodied Gt3 Clubsport in white, steel brakes with optional Nomex Gt seats looks like the one to have.

15kg heavier than the 996 GT3, but then it uses wider tyres and rims (and 19" rather than 18" diameter), plus it uses a wider shell and more technology.
I'm hearing that the details on the GT3RS may be available on Monday, so hopefully can then compare and decide.
p.s. I'm surprised how right it looks in white.

Nice. Especially in white. The only thing I don't like is the front PU.
How is the weight compared to the 996 GT3 Mk2 and 996 GT3 RS?
The image on the thread appears to indicate that the kerbweight of the new GT3 is 1395. I wouldn't know which figures do or don't include the weight savings of PCCB.
You don't mind that fussy rear wing and the gratuitous horizontal crease running around the rear?

I didn't initially like the black spy photos we saw a few weeks back, but it looks much better in white. The rear bumper is growing on me, particularly when I appreciate that it serves a functional purpose. The rear wing looks clumsy compared to the simpler designs on the 996, but it's not too bad. The front also seems to be better but still quite fussy. Overall it looks to have much more prescence than the 996 GT3 or RS. I almost bought a 996 GT3 RS when they first came out but having owned 3 996's beforehand I just didn't find myself warming to the 996 design (particularly the interior).
Prices that we've heard thus far are somewhere between £76-78k base for the GT3, but mention of early £90k for the RS may imply it will be a very different kind of car.
