996 to 997 project with pictures.

..... but it looks like they are doing a proper job of the conversion. I'm sure that if you stick with the philosophy of using Porsche parts you will end up with a nice conversion.
As for the ethics of the conversion Let's face it, there are enough reputable(?
) specialists out there building 2.7RS's out of 964s and the like, so it looks like a good idea to me to do a panelwork upgrade on a box standard 996 and end up with a car that looks 7 years newer - even thought about doing the same on our mk2 GT3 project.

Interesting, have you got a pen thats really a gun as well?
Like one of the other questions, if you didnt like your 996 enough to make it look like a 997 what do you intend to do about the interior or are you just bothered by what people who dont know what there looking at think your driving?

There's some very cynical people about,
whoami, it's going to cost around 6k excluding paint & wheels and NO THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT!
Carrera2, why would you ask that?
ninemiester, Good spot!! and thanks for your comments, are you ninemiester that's in Warrington? If so I think your my most local garage?
lanan, Have you ever dealt with Clubautosport? I have nothing but praise for them.
bund, Basically I love the look of the 997 and this is the cheapest way of getting a 911 that lookes like one, I am doing this for me nobody else, so that when I look at the car I'm happy with it. I don't quite see what your problem is? I love the way that the 996 drives and looks and feels like inside for that matter, I just really really like the way the 997 looks. I could go and buy a 997 brand new! but I would probably loose more in depreciation as soon as I drove it out of the showroom than this conversion is costing, without all of the fun in doing the project. Also as far as I know a pen is not a gun? where as my Porsche is a Porsche it's not a kit car. just to clear up any confusion.
Thanks,
Ant.
