997 C2S TO 996 TURBO X50
Discussion
Hello there,
Just a few tghings top ask fellow piston headers.
My 997 C2S has been up for sale for a while now, looking at going into a 996 Turbo.
My current car 997 C2S 2004/54 with 28,000 miles on the clock.Guards red, Good spec, sat nav, bose & sport chrono. Got it up now on site for £47,500. Still a cheap car to me. Just colour puts people off.

Might have to take the old OPC dealer trade in value and melt to there views. They have offered me £47,000 on my C2S if i were to go into OPC LONDONS 996 turbo 2002/52 slate grey x50 with 18,000 miles on clock. priced at £61,990. To me seems a good deal on my car, but would prefer to get them down to £60,000 on there turbo. IMO evens it up on my car if it goes £47k on mine and £60k on theres.
If they do keep to there word and give me the £47k on mine, dont think i will persure with the private sale.

To be honest, i think your car looks beautiful in Red and is very sensibly priced(probably one of the cheapest in the UK) there are too many Seal grey/Silver 911's going around, its different and for me looks more like a sportscar than a GT/Grand Tourer. I am on the lookout for a used 996 myself and i am considering one in speed yellow, its a C4s at £40k max but if i could go to £50, your 997 would be top of the list. I also considerd a CL55 AMG but if offered the new CL500 or the previous CL63? I would take the new model CL500.
P.S. I spend allot of time on the Autotrader website which your car is not on, maybe you should try it on there.

For what it's worth I think guards red looks bloody superb on a 997!
(Can't afford to buy it, but if I had that sort of money I'd have a serious look at it).

Try Phil at 911 Sport ( www.911sport.co.uk ). He has a mint 996 TT, aerokitted X50 for sale at £57,995.

I think your C2S looks good value - the colour will put a lot off but IMO the red centre console is worse for resale - not a good look in a cooking 911. Nice psec apart from that lacking only a sports exhaust.
If you are really only making £500 more on a private sale why bother with the hassle, just sell to the OPC?

£47Kish private would be a good deal for the buyer. Surprised the OPC offered you that though - I'd have thought £45K.
I may be wrong but the reason OPC are offering you £47k for your (rather gorgeous) 997 is that their TT price is pretty crazy expensive .. I'd have thought you'd get one from the likes of RJS for at least £5k cheaper .. AND he'll go through the OPC warranty motions with you.
You're offering your car at a very good price privately , I'd be surprised if you don't get a bite soon ... With the wad in your hand , you'll call the shots...
Hello lads,
Its just i want a Turbo, the 997 turbo is just a bit to rich at the moment.
My mates in a seal grey 2003 996 turbo with aerokit and injection upgrade and its just amazing.
Not really to bothered about the turbo having x50 pack on or not - just want to own one. You know - tick the box.
Probs made a rash move last year buying a 997 c2s with 18,000 miles on the clock from OPC.Paid to whack as well. But everyone makes mistakes and loses ££££££ on cars - me just more than most !!
Just looking to move onto a turbo - having no joy at present trying to finding a nice cared for car, with low miles - missed out on a black one on piston heads before new year - black, one owner and under 20,000 miles. The car looked mint.
But I Seen a few, all crap condition and most all over 4 owners.
Spec- Black with black or seal grey -

4 owners is not really too unreasonable for cars of this nature. You will also probably find that 996TT's in general have a few more miles than the equivalent GT2/3/3RS as these are mostly used as track/weekend cars.
My advice would be to buy on condition in a colour that you want, just as I have. It took me a good few months to find the right car but the wait is more than worthwhile.
