May take the plunge in changing the Chim, tempted by a GT3 nothing else for the money comes close other tha a 930 Turbo??
hhmmm?
It's the only porker I'd look at (obviously RS spec as well), but personally I'd go for a 355.hhmmm?
I'm sure chassis wise it would knock spots of my Cerbera but in the power to weight stakes the Cerb still wins.
well if it rings your bell.. so to speak... why not!
i'd test drive a decent Cerb first of course.. Just incase we can keep you in the TVR fold.
Saying that, not sure what money the GT3 will be but how about test driving a low mileage Sagaris. Now that has some decent track poise!
Of the modern day 911's i do think the GT3 (and 2) are the ones closest to the classic soul..

Power/Weight maybe, but in a straight-line drag race I'm not sure about. Have a look at the Fighting Torque results and in general the GT3's did rather well in comparison to the Cerbs - and that's in a straight line. Chuck a few twisties in and, correct me if I'm wrong, I would imagine the GT3 would beat pretty much all Cerbs hands down.I love Cerbs, but things have moved on a lot and the newer SP6 cars reflect this - certainly there are few cerbs that could keep up with my T350 in straight line and that's before we introduce curves. A good Sag, I am informed, takes things to another level.

Let me just state for the record that I think GT3s are great, and if I wanted a Porsche, that'd be the one

The perfect car for has to be the GT3 RS, I have done a lot of miles in drhildr's and love it to bits but purely - I can't afford one.
I took a 4.5 Cerb to Le Mans in 2006, great car but not a 911. The 911 just begs to be pushed further.
The Cerb has a fantastic engine that wants you to squeeze the nuts of it but it's like the go kart you made when you were seven, the faster you go the more you know that if a wheel falls off it's going to hurt.

Do you think that's because someone designed the suspension on the Porsche?
Considering the Sagaris and Tuscan were both over 2 seconds a lap faster than the GT3 round the topgear track i think you can safely say their suspension was 'designed'Yes the RS is quicker than both but at near £95k i'd hope so...

I really do like TVRs, but the 2 times I've had a dice with one on track, both suffered mechanical failure (diff explosion in one case and not sure on the other but it involved coolant out the exhaust over the front of my car) - this was a t350 and a saggy. Couldn't fault them for pace, but the whole BANG aspect really sucked for the owners.

yep, because that makes such a difference to people who own them...
