Just visited a very nice 965 with 18000 miles on it. Very pretty with all the right docs MOTs bills etc. Looks right and will probably check out to be right. Opinions on 33K please?

sounds like its been kept original which is nice but maybe the popular colour and 3.3 might lower the price still. I take it its a uk supplied car not singapore or anything? Still a loverly 'super car' to love and cherish.

To be honest i'd be a bit concerned about a car with so few miles. About 30miles a week, at a guess. The main problem is the car was probably a second or third car and just didn't get driven, and hence was probably not serviced annually, due to low use. Whilst some parts are clearly milage dependent, others just deteriorate over time and hence the requirement for annual service regardless of miles. That being said they are great cars, and I wish I only had 18k on mine. I'd check the service book and if not serviced every year, tell the seller that the milage is a discounting point not a premium generator. Regardless, £30k absolute tops, with full 48k service (i.e. all belts, etc....).

Well it is fecking expensive for that model. Depends if they really float your boat or not. The low miles etc mean it is 5-10k GBP more than a normal example. Is that a premium you're prepared to pay.

I could find you a LHD 993 Turbo 4 for 33k GBP. And the Turbo 4 is much better than any 965 dynamically and technically. You are also into good RS territory - I have seen LHD 993 RSs for that and RHD 964RSs for that - these will be better investments for resale purposes.

So, yes it's pricey. But don't let that worry you if you are desperate for a 965 and feel 33k is a fair price.

An average mileage (60-70K), RHD 3.3 could be yours for £25K or less. Is the ultra low mileage really worth another 8 grand ?

You could probably get a LHD 3.6 (360 bhp, I think), for £25K ish , or how about a LHD 993 Turbo for £35K or less ? Plenty of those about and no comparison, performance wise.

Sorry Dom. Didnt see your post before sticking my oar in.

MMmm Thanks Guys, I hear you Domster but I just can't get on with LHD or I would consider the RS. The 965 has had annual services, biggest gap is 20 months and 2000 miles.

Fair play. Sounds a good car if you can swallow the premium. But UV is right - the v low mileage examples can be more trouble prone.

Twist their arm and at 30k it would be a steal. Remember that Guard's Red is not the most popular 965 colour when you negotiate - this should help you get the price down a tad. If it was in black or midnight blue it may sell a bit easier.

For the same money you're talking there's a 3.6 965 in dark blue or black (can't tell which) on the 911 virgin website, complete with those luverly split rims.

Ahem...I know you only asked for comment about the price of 33k....but can you give us a bit more insight into the appeal of the ( RHD 3.3 litre) 965 ? Is it for high speed excursions into camera free areas, track day thrashes or weekend wanders ?

It's www.911virgin.com - though they're now showing as having taken a deposit on that particular 965, anyone on here??? If so I'm seriously jealous. I spent a good bit of the weekend toying with the idea of chopping my 930 in on that car!

Probably would have gone to have a look at it on Saturday if I hadn't had a stinking cold, and who knows what might have happened.
