I have to say that for a company that makes such superb cars, Porsche's customer service is non-existent.

My brand new 911 Turbo X50, fully loaded at £103K was due to be with me on Tuesday 1st March. Guess what, it hasn't even been built, and I cannot get any information as to why or indeed when it will arrive. My OPD was told to email Porsche and to date they haven't had a reply. All they can tell me is the car hasn't even been built. Great.

I've had better information regarding every single other new car I have ever had including cars for £10K never mind £100K. Quite frankly, its just not good enough.

I believe Porsche is one of the most profitable car manufacturers in the world, well spend some of your bloody profit on systems to keep your customers informed. Next time, I just may take a closer look at the competition.

Yours, one pretty pi**ed off customer

Did you order through perchance ?

They managed to lose one of our cars, I think they may have forgotten to order it in time, despite us putting in the deposit earlier than the lead time to make sure we got a 1st March car, no news on the run up then frantic activity just as March came.

Car turned up 3 weeks late, the dealer blamed Porsche , but we had friends get a similar car they ordered two months after us on the 1st of March.

never bought a new porsche but have just ordered a Mk5 Golf -- been well impressed by the salesmen, called me the day it was made, called me when it left the factory, says he will tell me when it arrives at the port in UK, i get it a few days after that when it is prepped.

however until i see it i will not believe it!!

Spie... sad news but i can vouch for the X50 being one seriously sorted car and will give you years of pleasure. Good things come to those who wait

But that kind of non-service isn't right or acceptable.

When they write to 'invite' you for the car's first service, write back explaing that due to their CR*P service when you bought the car you will be having it serviced elsewhere... Make them lose!

Not from me you didn't. We don't have, nor have ever had any female sales/customer service/support people.

The thing is I don't believe my dealer is at fault here. It is Porsche themselves that are to blame. I'll be on the phone at 9am this morning to customer service, but if the past is anything to go by I'm not expecting any news today

Will post news as I get it. Now where was that Gallardo brochure .....

An absolute disgrace. Totally at odds with my own delivery experience. If you have no luck with Anna, suggest you ask to speak to the top man at Porsche GB, Andy Goss. There is a breakdown in communication somewhere and it stinks. I was told a production week within days of speccing the vehicle and it going "status x".

I would have thought a loan car may be in order if you have already agreed a sale on yours, or were you PXing into the supplying OPC?

The very sorry tale. As Rico said above, I promise that you will like it when you get it.

Short memory! I know two myself females who worked in your sales dept (who are not there now). I used to buy from her myself!

Sorry to hear of these difficulties but try and bear with it, the car is quite simply in a class of it's own (and I mean the 996TT specifically).

Just as a matter of interest, you wouldn't happen to have a doppleganger knocking in and around the north west would you? It's just that I've seen a silver 996TT knocking about the slums displaying the unusual number plate commensurate with your nom de plume.

(And jolly nice it is too.)

At the risk of repeating myself, not from my company. You are confusing Overclockers UK with Millenium Computers - the latter being a company my ex-partner owned.

Thanks for the info Daz. If I get no joy today I'll give Andy Goss a call. Loan car isn't really an issue as the C4 is going back in p/x.

I'm afraid this is a very common story

Happened to me with my Boxster and looking forward to it immensely with my 997

All I can recommend is to stop speaking to anyone else and start with the Dealer Principal - everything gets sorted mighty quick then!

Cheers

Yup and we all still spend a fortune with them year after year who is getting it right??
As a thirty somthing you will still spend £300K to £500K on there cars over your lifetime as a coustomer. typicaly OPC will blame PCGB without giving you any proof and speeking to anyone PCGB is prity tough good luck with Andy Goss.
PGM makes a very good point on dealing with dealer principles only.
If porsche were not so bad at coustomer service how would brokers like Tom Hartley survive ( He is excelent at coustomer service)

Well pardon me for not knowing the in depth history of your company! You still trade under the same name.

It seems the more you spend the worse the customer service - I bought a £185,000 yacht last year. It was delivered 4 1/2 months late and when I spoke to the managing director of the manufacturer to tell him that this was not satisfactory he told me "I have plenty of other customers for that boat Mr Hogg, I don't care whether you cancel your order or not".

The boat, when it was finally delivered, was riddled with defects that still haven't all been put right....
