Our Ref 1-467842903

Dear Mr Foo

Thank you for your enquiry about N rated Pilot Super Sport

We are currently in the process of working with Porsche on the approval of these sizes.

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to say when the approval will be obtained, as it depends on many different factors.

Therefore we do not have any dates for when we will have the N specification tyres available.

Should you require any further assistance please contact us on 0845 366 1590 (UK & NI) or 0044 (0) 1782 401590 (ROI), quoting the reference number above.

Were these not the tyres that P&911W magazine did a feature on recently?

Good to know that they are in the pipeline, but since I've just purchased some new MPS 2's, I'm pleased they are not too imminent

Sounds like an unedited stock response then. That's a pity.

Given that thus far they don't even plan to offer them in 18" sizes that would suit a 996 GT2/3/turbo, your money would appear fairly safe frown

You won't find the Pilot Super Sport in 17's anytime soon, Michelin have the PS3 covering that tyre frown

Last I heard the N rated tyres were due very soon. If the PEC at Silverstone aren't already running them on their cars, they will be by next month as I'm driving on them there... Would the PEC fit non n-rated tyres?

extract from a post on www.boxa.net re:tyres:

"ATS and Costco both said no available ability for 19" Michellins at present and costco said they phoned Michellin who said no production date and only have a single rear tyre in stock as they are about to introduce the Supersport version to replace the Pilot Sport..they wouldnt fit anything non-N rated either"

hopefully N rated PSS on the way soon

The Super Sport was included in a recent russian test: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2011-Autorevi...

As expected, amazing in the dry, not so good in the wet.

I am also desperate for rears for my 7 GT3. I would much prefer these to the Cups for the added security in the wet.
Just trying to hang on in there or I am in the search for rear cups N0, so far can only find N1.

Is it a big deal to mix N0 on fronts (4mm tread) with new N1 on rear?

The GT3 RS I drove had Cups just like the GT2 RS 000 outside.

I've had non N-rated Super Sports on my Cayman S for the last 2 months. They have been nothing short of a revelation on the road and track when compared to the PS2's.
Don't know if I would risk putting non N-rated on a 911 though. I would have thought that Porsche might alter the construction a bit for the rears to accommodate the extra rearward weight bias.
