After the excitement of seeing the cars going round the Indy circuit at the porsche festival, there is a porsche experience trackday on the GP circuit for monday 6th september, run by heritage.

they do a full day for £295 or 1/2 day for £170, both including a passenger.

sessions in the morning, open pit lane in the afternoon.

www.heritagetrackdays.com for details.

No affiliation, but i will be going along and a few of us have talked about doing the "GP" circuit before.

Don, I thought the next session on the GP circuit was on the 29/09 and not the 30th ???

Generally a good time was had.....there were one or 2 incidents with radicals buzzing everyone with their own vague interpretation of track day etiquette, which did spoil things a little.

The GP circuit is fantastic, the surtees into hawthorn part is glorious and suits Pork well, you can stretch your legs and there is a lot of track to use. If you haven't done it I would reccomend it before the season is through, especially after you have experienced the Indy already.

There were a wide variety of cars there yesterday, Am V8 vantage, lynx d type, alfa Sz, various caterhams etc, pork RS/GT...even a tiuring car driver out there.

I had to work very hard to keep up/pass; LAD Clio cup, C4,R300 and to my amazement a very hard driven K-N Turbo...the door handles were practically scraping on the track through some of the corners!
I figured it was safer to be in front rather than behind it...not much room to pass when it drifts across the circuit like that..an amazing sight!

Other highlights included an incredible pax lap with Vic C in his awesome 993 Gt2...and also the track debut of the much acclaimed teamlizardracing Golf track slag!
all in all a memorable day.
