A while back I read an article covering an exceptionally rare 964 RS with 4x4 fitted. They were going to run a race series but backed out in the end.

My question is this: will the 4x4 version be safer at the limit over twisty country lanes? Or will it be just as prone to leaving the road backwards as it's rear wheel drive cousin?

I don't suppose anyone here has ever sampled this ultra rare RS variant, but those who have owned both regular 964C2 & C4's would have a good idea.....

(Might make an interesting project to build up from a C4)

There was one guy who owned a minter, plus another which was reguarly spanked about.

Anyway, does anyone have an opinion on the C2 v C4 handling issue?....

100kgs extra! That doesn't seem to mesh with the RS ethos too well does it. I imagined it would only be 50 max. Were the diffs cast from lead?! What on earth were they doing?

I don't suppose any tuners (like ruf / quaife) offer lighter diffs / drive shafts?
