Congrats.. V. jealous. Expect to see pics posted asap...!

What you doing with your 997C2S?

Trading it in Finn - advertised and got messed about so much I can't be bothered with a private sale. I advertised here and Autotrader. I was inundated with calls from dealers who offered less money than OPC, one in particular was an arrogant dick. I was then led down the garden path by a 'buyer' who wasted hours of my time, including half a day off work. We shook hands on a deal which he also confirmed in an email. He then sent a cowardly email reducing his offer to a stupid amount, way below book, so I told him where to go.

The OPC has actually given me a pretty good price after a fair bit of pressure from me. It's my fourth car in 5 years which I think helped negotiations

Anyway can't wait for the GT3.

I've known my OPC for many years and they are normally very good. Submitted my letter of intent in January, checked out the car in Geneva in March, took advice on suitability, spec, etc from Chris Harris, Geoff Turral, Andreas Preuninger, confirmed the ordered in April, spec'd it in May.

Mine has the alcantara s/w and alcantara/leather sports seats.

I'm hoping the s/w will be fine. I have a suede Momo on my Caterham and it does feel a bit manky when my hands get sweaty. Fortunately the Caterham has a Racetech quick release boss, so I can change it for a leather Momo in a few seconds.

The lwt bucket seats are fantastic (once you're in them) and do add to the specialness of the GT3. For track use they will have a big advantage. However, I went for the Sports seats because:
- £3000 cheaper
- Easier to get in/out
- More adjustability
- Better rear access
- Heat option
- Still provide good comfort and support (with a g-lock)
- Can always retro-fit buckets if necessary

I'll report back when I've put a few miles on it.

See, this just doesn't make any sense and convinces me that not all's as it should be.

So you give a letter of intent this January and get your car now? I put my letter of intent in April 2004 and I don't get my car until next year - something's really not right here...I wish to god that Porsche would sort their shit out and ensure orders are met by date of request.

Meanwhile, congratulations on your car

I collect mine from the OPC on Thursday - put my letter into the OPC in August 05.
