PH exclusive: spy shots of new Porsche?

Is this a new Carrera 4S?

Spy shots of what some sources suggest is the new, and as yet unlaunched Porsche Carrera 4S (997) with aerokit have reached PistonHeads. They were taken during car's last street tests with the new Aerokit.

The design of the Aerokit appears very similar to the look of the GT3. The Prototype also shows the Porsche Sports exhaust system, which will -- allegedly -- only be available for the Carrera S and 4S.

Sources say that the 355bhp Porsche Carrera 4S will cost £69,000 compared to the rear-wheel drive Carrera S price of £65,000. The Aerokit will cost an additional £3,000, and both will be unveiled at the Frankfurt show, which starts on 17 September 2005.

thinking about it, how do they know it's a C4S and not actually a GT3 ??

Is it wider than the standard car ?

Good question Glenn.

Looks like the car has a rear wiper which have not been available on any GT3 to date. But what is to say it's not just a regular 997 with a factory or aftermarket bodykit?

Looks like they intend to introduce as ROW spec the ugly additonal bumpers of US specs ...

It looks very "un-refined". Not keen on it at all.

Not sure I like it, the body kit seems way too fussy.

Who says it is a C4S ??? No author on the article, people i know who are supposed to have a clue at pork Hq don't know about a 4 even when spoken to off the record..

While we are speculating I think this one actually has the Cayenne 4wd system and V8 Turbo in the back

I don't think that this car is an official Porsche development car. I bet it's just an aftermarket company's machine based on a 2 wheel drive car that some part-time spy photographer spotted who then put 2 and 2 together and came up with 6.

The front is way too fussy. Hate that.

Having checked against GuyR's photo's of the RT12 I agree that the front bumper looks identical to the RufRT12 bumper. Interestingly though, this car has additional intakes on the lower lip spoiler similar to the 996 C4S...... so the plot thickens.

Sorry Guys it is an official car look at the Front PU and compare it to the 997 cup car on the porsche web site(under motorsport)[url]http://content3.eu.porsche.com/prod/motorsport/sales.nsf/gbrenglish/911_gt3_cup_997bodywork
it looks slightly odd as the bottom lip is colour coded rather than black but other than that they are the same unit.
I gues they think it is a C4s because of the high spec ie rear park assist etc...but Porsche are good at desguising mules
As to wether it is a C4s or a GT3 who knows? but as AFN have 15 deposits for a GT3 my guess that is what it is(I take darens point re wash wipe but it looks in US spec anyway do they have a wiper?)
UK GT3 is expected next spring

I think i agree with you on this one LW.

I reckon it's a GT3,the front bumpers look the same.

And the rear wing has got to be a GT3 one, i would of thought an aerokit wing would look similar to the forthcomind turbos.
