Of all the 911s....
Discussion
Well it's been around since 1964 so there are plenty to choose from, but which 911 really turns you on.
It's not necessarily the fastest or the one that drives the best. This is an emotive question - it's the one that really stirs your loins!
For me it's the 2.7 Carrera RS, just because it represents everything that turned me on to 911s when I was a kid.

Have to agree on your car choice there. 2.7 RS is an icon...911 came out a year earlier though 1963.
I got the 30 year anniversary T shirt in 1993, it was such good quality I bought my 1st 911 2 weeks later
901 in September '63, 911 September '64 - according to my info anyway!

Second that choice, though for an everday runaround I would choose a late 80's 3.2 Carrera, complete with rear-deck spoiler, they look just right.
That's my car - but you can't have it

I think I'd have to confine this to just those 911s I've ever driven. Every 911 I've ever driven and owned (except for a 2.7 Lux and 2.0 Sporto) has been a bit special. For me, the delicacy of my 2.4E took a bit of beating, especially after its engine rebuild which took it up to near 2.4S power.
I've never driven a 2.7Rs but I just know I'd love it - but would it have the feel of my 2.4E on its 185 section tyres?... I doubt it. My 964 RS came very close to matching that pre impact bumper "feel" that later cars lost.
FWIW my non-sport 3.2 felt every bit as secure as the sport version I had previously owned. Back in the '80s you couldn't sell a non-sport for love nor money, now I'd say that the non-sport is the more sought after.

You see, i know you can say i'm biased, but the plain vanilla 993 (like my old Iris Blue one) looks the dog's i think. The beautiful curves of that rump, the traditonal headlights with their modernised slant, the proportions, the lines... it still retains that 911 silhouette as well.
The non-spoilered, narrow body 3.2's look fabulous as well, and my mate David's '65 is beautiful (known as LGK6D) - it's so petite.
To drive - well, i haven't driven one yet, but i reckon the 993RS has to be about the best all rounder there is.
IMHO, £0.02, etc.

Having never driven a 911... but I think an early 930 in that metalic lime colour with Black Fuch wheels, black rubber bits infront of the rear arches and a black leather interior.
Or a 996 GT2 in the same 70s metalic lime with dark wheels.
