I'd agree with above.
Both the alarm and immobiliser ecu's live in the footwell. They might respond to an unplug, spray on the pins, and then re-plugging in.
Have you tried letting the -VE terminal on the battery go, then re-making the connection and going through a LOCK, UN-LOCK, cycle? Just a thought.

Spoke to Dom at Power. And he suggested disconnecting the battery. Unfortunately it made no difference. What i have since noticed though, is that I have no red LED when i arm the immobiliser. I have a green one for the alarm which works just fine, but the immobiliser just seems to be dead.

Where do you have a green light? I don't think I've ever seen one on my car.

The green is alongside the red but not as bright. I think it the alarm status indicator.

As far as no red LED is concerned see my link above it sounds like exactly the same issue. I spent hours in the footwell unplugging and plugging in the connectors. There is a multi pin plug that connects it to the car loom and a small flat ribbon cable that connects it to the M99 alarm unit. For me it was a new M36T required. Dave Fairclough is your man to contact. Beware that the pin assignments on the loom side are not always the same. On mine two pairs of cables were swapped over and Dave re=configured the M36 to match.

I had exactly the same issue with mine after the battery went flat. All I did (after recharging) was follow one of the threads on here and disconnected for a short period the fuse under the passengers carpet. Worked for me!

By way of closure on this subject: It turns out that my immobiliser had thrown its hand in. Bought a new alarm/ immobiliser set from Abacus Alarms in London and it's all good in the hood. If you find yourself at a loose end one day, take out the panel from the drivers footwell, pull all the alarm wiring into said footwell. Then try and get it all back in. A happy low stress pottering type job it is not.smile I'm going to take apart the old immobiliser next to see if there's any user serviceable fuses or anything inside. If I find anything interesting I'll let you all know.

I gave up trying to get the wiring back into the void in the footwell. The car went to a specialist for a new clutch with a note attached to please tidy up the wiring. Saved hours of frustration.
