Front disc and pads required!
Discussion
Hi All,
Car went for MOT and failed on front discs... I thought that wasn't bad until I saw what price they are !! . My Jag cost me £52 for mintex disc and pads... Tuscan £454!!
.
So i've done some digging and have found that I can get ...
front pads (EBC dp3036c) for £80 .
304mm Front disc £120 Each. (Clever trevor)
So £134 saving so far...
Has anyone else manage to get the above cheaper ?? Does anyone know the offset for the disc ?? (304mm x30mm)
Cheers
Andy

I'd go for the Ferodo pads on the front. Part no: FRP216H
Many one here use them.

Another vote for the DS 2500 they are great pads.
Also try BG Developments - AP specialist may have some alternative disks you could look at...

Are you asking for the ones that are all in one (I'm assuming so) or the ones that bolt to the ally bell? You can get the latter cheaper from places like reyland but I doubt they'd be as good as the ap ones. Could try alcon too, just as good as ap but again won't be cheap.
If they are the all in one unit then they were made for TVR, so getting a cheaper alternative isn't going to be easy or imo safe either. I think you're just going to have to bite the bullet and pay up, at least they'll last you for years once replace!
As said above the ferredo ds2500's are a good pad. I REALLY can't see you getting them for much cheaper though I'm afraid!

As stated by Toady, you wont find these disks anywhere else. The disks are made by Ap and exclusively supplied to TVR Power who then distribute and sell themselves. If they are the all in one unit then they were made for TVR, so getting a cheaper alternative isn't going to be easy or imo safe either. I investigated getting the bells and drums but its hardly worth the time/cost as you'd need to do a group of 6 plus people.
I have kept the old disks should I ever want to try and get someone to manufatcure them.
Id also avoid the EBC pads. Ive used the ferrodo and their well balanced with the car. I havent locked up even on track days.

I took one to my local motor factor and two days later he matched it.
Identical size and bolt pattern.
Will look it up if you require , I think it was from a van.
£32 each.
They will no doubt be made of a much different material and doubt they're drilled either so won't look as nice. Also how long would they last in anger?? I guess t that price who cares! Ha ha! Identical size and bolt pattern.

Was that the front or rear disks? I'd be interested to know as I got numerous brake companies to investigate and no one could come up with an exact match. Identical size and bolt pattern.
