Just in case anyone would like to know how to convert dipped beam on headlights if going on the Continent, the attached is a diagram from Hella.

http://uk.photos.yahoo.com/bc/christiern_dart/vwp?.dir=/Hella&.src=ph&.dnm=Hella+Diagram.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//uk.photos.yahoo.com/bc/christiern_dart/lst%3f%26.dir=/Hella%26.src=ph%26.view=t

Apparently the process is:

To convert from UK to continental Dip.

Remove Screw A
Loosen screws B&C
Turn rear of lamp 15 degrees and reinsert screw A (from position marked L/G to R/D)
Tighten screws B&C

No idea how to get to the back of the headlight to make the changes though.

Any ideas?

To get to the head lights you first have to remove the main bonnet, then remove inner wing side cover.

I have been driving my TVR's in europe for six years & never had a problem, I guess the lights are not bright enough to bother anyone! Although it might be different if you have the gas discharge headlights.
