Tuscan Mk 2

Tuscan given a face lift and new drop top model revealed

TVR have arrived at the British Motor Show with a facelifted Tuscan Speed 6. The new model features revised lights front and rear and changes to the interior but more significantly there's a new convertible Tuscan.

The drop top uses a roof system familiar to TVR owners with a hard panel that stows in the boot and a soft back section that folds down. Unlike previous models, the rear section has no cantilever but when erected secures via some hefty bolts to the new roll bars. The hard top panel is stowed in the cavernous boot. The boot is longer than those of the hard topped Tuscan as the whole rear bulkhead has been moved forward.

The non-drop-top Tuscans have also received a facelift. Faired in headlights feature on the base model with the Tuscan S benefiting from both headlights and spotlights being faired in. A slightly larger front spoiler is used along with a more blended, but bigger and swoopier rear spoiler on the S.

I don't know what the Tuscan purists think but as a Griff owner I think that the drop top looks fantastic. Be good to see a side view to be sure but overall I think it works brilliantly. Bringing the rear bulkhead forward looks like it has really helped.
