Tuscan S purchased
Discussion
Well after a chat with Tony at HHC last Saturday he mentioned he was getting a Tuscan 2 S in I thought I better go and have a look.
30 mins later I placed a deposit on it.
Very knowledgeable guy and a pleasure to do a deal with him.
Car has been known to him since the previous owner bought it 5 years ago.
First Tuscan S I have seen and according to howmanyleft there are only 70 or so left!
Chuffed is an understatement.

Congratulations, I'm still waiting to purchase/find the right one for me.
I justified the cost by saying life is short, if you can enjoy the money without watching it in the bank, while it may also still appreciate, go for it.

And exactly. It's not exciting popping back online to see a number in your bank.
Also What's everyone's views on how there value will hold up?
Bearing in mind it's a very rare Tuscan 2 S and essentially a sagaris underneath. I'm hoping it will slowly appreciate but I could be completely wrong.
The fact that this one is pretty much first one and the one that was on the tvr stand at 2004 motorshows might go in its favour as well as tony at HHC has a feeling smolenski ran it for a little while.
i did a search on TVR on the EVO site and there is a buyers guide for the sagaris on 2009 and it picked an example on the classifieds at the time and it was £35k with 13000 miles.
Obviously the sagaris is the daddy of tvr's and the best looking but still that would be worth 55-60 now!

Abandon the Tuscan purchase and save the money for that daddy sag and allow me to buy this Tuscan! ; ) You have no idea how much I want it, the perfect car came up for sale a season too early for me, still prepping the chim for sale.
Oh no, tbh I do think the sagaris is the better looking car but I want an open top car with plenty of luggage space. The Tuscan is perfect!LeeHodges said:
Don't suppose you cast an eye over the Tamoras when you were there? It's a long way to go to find they're not as good as they look in the ads.
The green one is sold and the other is a beaut, I had a good luck at it. If there are any issues on it you can be sure tony will sort them out.mbrown5 said:
I found these pics of your car at the 2004 motorshow, being a TVR show car adds a nice bit of history and I think adds value. I can only find one other 2S for sale and it's done more miles and is up for £30k, so I think you've got a very good deal and it will only go up in value. I bet you can't wait to collect it you lucky sod.
If the one I am buying was a penny more I wouldn't of probably looked at it. My budget was £25k

Welcome to an exclusive club.
Mine is in bits, and have spent the thick end of £7000 over the last few months, but do not let that put you off...
When they work they are wonderful!

I still don't know how exclusive it is and it seems no one does!.

I don't have the official documents so don't know the proper name...but it was just "normal" black and the picture was taken after a £40 pre-sale full valet. It does look nice doesn't it.
When did you sell and what kind of money did it go for? (If you don't mind me asking)Northbloke said:
Pay attention LAC , I answered that on page 1!
I sold it 2 years ago privately for £27k (having bought it two and a half years earlier for £25k from a local dealer). Less than £2k spent on servicing etc so free Tuscan motoring for over 2 years.
You look like you've got a bargain.

I should maybe ask tony what options were ticked..
Is there anyone with an option list with there paperwork ?? (Unlikely)
I'm dying to go back and see it but it's only been 5 days! I said I'd pick it up nearer mid to end of April
Why oh why
I still keep reading things on them, mainly on how to look after engine.
Like don't stat prat it from cold and let it sit and idle?? Drive off as soon as you can.
They don't like a lot of load so use gears...
Basically they like to be driven hard when fully warmed up... Hmmm

Saw your car when I dropped off mine last thursday, great car, congrats and welcome to the 2S fold!
(Yes the Sag is a bit better but twice the price and with a few tweeks the 2S comes very close. And it's more beautiful IMHO.)
HHC is a great group of guys, skillful and very trustworthy, and Tony is a very nice guy.
Thanks, just seen yours on your profile pic, looks stunning in orange!(Yes the Sag is a bit better but twice the price and with a few tweeks the 2S comes very close. And it's more beautiful IMHO.)

How long have you owned yours and has it behaved?
Can't wait to get to Le Mans and south of France in it!!
Sounds great.
Long way to go Hexham from south of France for a service.
Am spending a week in south of France after Le Mans in June. Be good to meet there.
Have a family place in Gassin? Haven't been for 20 years since I was a teenager so if you know that area any touristy tips will be a help
