If you want to do track days I suggest you buy, borrow or go to a place where they have a db metre. I would say you would be very close to the margin at 4000rpm. You may need some temporary silencers like decibel killers or the like. Its not worth taking the chance if your close to the limit as you could end up being a spectator.

It's getting worse on the db front with all the tweed jacketed bearded do gooders about.

Nice to hear of somebody who wants to use the car for the purpose they were built for and not be totally paranoid about the engine

My friend has a Tuscan 2s with cc cans fitted,we have done a few track days and he has to swap his cans back to standard for all of them.Think it will be way over db level.

My 2000 non S was 109db with CCCs fitted, too loud for most tracks.

An S IIRC has slightly larger diameter exhausts so will probably be louder again.

I have now switched back to the standard cans, probably permanently, IMO It still sounds great and does a fair ammount of popping and banging, plus I can get on a 102db track day.

I found tt also helps to set your change-up lights to 6000rpm, it means you are quieter on the noise test of 75% of "redline" plus you can red-line it in every gear on the trackday and still be giving a fair amount of mechanical sympathy to the car! Obviously you're missing out on a few horses and torques doing it this way but my tuscan was still considerably faster than most other cars on the track day I did recently so I didnt get in anyones way and still thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course this is the CAR that was faster, it says nothing for my drivingwink

Guys, I will be going to Cadwell on the TVRCC trackday on the 27th. I have a spare set of standard cans which people can borrow. I also have a set of semi silenced cans that I make myself which give a reading of 105dba with decat pipes, which I can also take. Drop me a line through my profile if you want to use them smile
