tvr tuscan warrantys
Discussion
hi all
i have searched these forums
for warrantys (aftermarket).
and am looking to buy a tuscan 2moro.
i have seen the auto protect.net website but it looks like a business site more than car warrantys is that the right website.
could anybody shed some light on buying a warranty for a newly bought 2001 tuscan.
many thanks

Private or dealer sale?
As you have probably read, the general consensus seems to be save your cash and put in a savings account should you need it. Many warranties don't seem to be worth the paper they are written on particularly around the S6 engine. Something like an AA warranty seems a good option.

I was given a warranty from the dealer I brought my T350 off. The engine subsequently needed a rebuild and they agreed to pay a good chunk of it, generally a good experience from Olympic Warranties (which seem to trade as Warranties 2000 also).
General consensus seems to be AA one will cover most yearly issues.
PM me if you want more details on Olympic.

I bought the "Gold Cover" Auto Protect warranty through a dealer for my TVR in June. This is the TVR Approved Warranty and the "Gold" claims to cover wear & tear items also. So far, they have covered a replacement clutch and a new radiator. They have rejected a steering rack claim this week (which personally cost me £954), even after Dom at Power spent 25 minutes on the phone with Auto Protect pleading my case. I have referred the claim and rejection back to the dealer and the director of Auto Protect. I'll let you know how it goes. I should hear back from them next week. Hold off doing anything until I come back on this thread.
With regard to the AA. Dom seems to like it, as do a number of indy's. They will cover the 1st £500 (less £25 co-pay) on each claim. No good if the engine blows, but for clutch, radiator etc., it goes a long way. Very cheap too at c.£99 per annum (including breakdown recovery). I hear by good authority that they haven't rejected a claim yet.
