Hello,

the heater motor doesn`t work. I checked the fuses, the relais, the switch. All okay. Now I assume it could be the moter itself. Did anybody open the motor housing before? What do I have to expect after opening it? Is it even the right way to reach the motor?

Is the heater motor in the upper black box?

Thanks in advance

Udo

Hi Udo,

have a look at andyoleary's giude + pics by following the link:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Good luck!

If it's not the heater motor, there is only the heater ECU left over - corroded or melted pins. Worst case you could send it to Cath Mason for repair. (She did mine 2 years ago - excellent job)

cheers,
Jo

Hi Jo,

thank you for the link. It might help. But I`m wondering, because I expected the heater-blower-motor under the black box. But what I see seems to be a stepper-motor. The problem of my Tuscan is, that the blower-motor doen´t work. And when it isn´t under the black box, where is it?

I agree that it sounds as if the ECU is playing up. It's on the passenger side about where your knee would be, behind the carpet. Give it a clean up and a wiggle, see if that helps.

Hi Phill,
I guess you mean this part:

I will trie to clean the electrical contacts, but I am afraid the fault is the blower-motor, because it made bad sounds just before its death. Do someone know, where this motor is?
Thanks

Udo

Aah, I see my friend. You want to check the heater blower motor.
http://www.tvrpower.co.uk/media/uploads/store/K012...

According to Graham Varley's great 'Sagaris pages' (most probably idem for Tuscan), ..."It's in the gasketed box behind the air-con expansion valve/pipes."...
If really nobody here has ever opened that box / has experience replacing the heater blower motor, you might want to call TVR Power to ask for advice how and where to check and replace the unit.

I cross my fingers that you will have it up and running for the TVR CC meeting in Swizterland and more important that we will rather need the cooling than the heating...

Gruss, bis denne,

Jo

Hi Jo,

thank you again. Seems do be a big job to find and change the blower-motor. I think I am not brave enough to do it myself. I hope the temperatures at the meeting in Switzerland will be mild.
Franka und ich freuen uns darauf, bis dahin

Schöne Grüße

Sorry for not replying sooner Udo. I was offshore and the photos were blocked by the company that own the server. But yes that black box is the one I meant. Mine's decided to play up again as well. Back to wiggling it every trip I guess.

Mine has gone and as far as I know it's behind the battery which is behind the near side front wheel (a simple job to take the wheel off, battery out skin all your knuckles, give up, take it to TVR Power who ahve to order one as there aren't any in stock !)

Good luck !
