I think there is already a post on General Gassing about this. However if every single PH'er hasn't signed it then they need reminding.

So what's going to happen to the petition when 20th February arrives? Will they just delete it?? or will it remain available to look at but not add further signatories?

I just heard on our local radio station (Cornwall's PirateFM102) that all 1.5 million people who signed up to this petition are going to be recieving an e-mail from a Mr T. Blair of London, to the affect that the road pricing and vehicle tracking proposal is the ONLY viable solution to the UK's current congestion problems.

Let's hope he has someone to x-ray and open his letters for him!

1.5million signatures? hmmmmmm? Surely this is enough to begin to begithinking about a drivers/car owners party. And if they campaigned on less tax @ the pumps
they would begin to be taken seriously. Fight fire with fire.

Some good ideas coming forward now. We all know this is one thing that is not going away. Soon we will have nothing to lose! Some of us will probably live the rest of our lives now fighting this!
Good luck everyone, see you on the front lines soon!
All we need now is strong leadership! ABD and others need to organise and unite now!
Labour, Conservative, Lib, are all for it one way or the other. Even if they say otherwise we would not belive them now!

From abd site: -

You might think that as an individual there's not a lot you can do to compact the plethora of anti-car measures coming from the powers that be, and you'd be right. As a solitary little raindrop you're pretty powerless.

But get together with twenty five million other raindrops and you become a powerful torrent that the government can no longer ignore.

Don't let them drive you off the road!

It will take more than a one off or a few demos. We will also have to sacrifice a lot more than just our time. We need a central command if you like, some sort of organisation.
The ABD fit the bill but we would have to provide more than just cash,
we would all have to become members become directly involved and trust appointed leaders etc to guide us though the tasks ahead. This is what's needed. It's no good just messing around with one day upsets now and then, we need organising, something that we are good at in the UK when we all believe in a cause!

LETS ALL JOIN ABD NOW! You know it makes sense.

Just think, we could all have a say, all have some clout, we would have people with us who know things know how to proceed against attacks from we know who etc. We could have people put into positions of power who are like us, normal working people from all backgrounds. We could have European member organisations, Ex pats etc etc.
Most importantly we would have solicitors and barristers fighting our cause via the European systems of justice.
All this and more if we just join together in one party. Who knows we might even find that we end up running the country. All this is possible if we direct our efforts and stand together.

I think it will only be a mater of time now before groups like ABD and THE CAR PARTY etc start to pull us in to join, the only important thing is is we must not become fragmented we must stay focused and stand together.
