RE: 800hp Spanish Supercar

800hp Spanish Supercar
Ceramic brakes and Pontiac V10 for '09 supercar
It seems that it’s not just the Brits who like to tempt us with supercar concepts that seem ever so slightly over-ambitious.
This time it is the turn of the Spanish, in particular GTA Motor, who have unveiled plans for a brand new supercar.
This 800hp monster will be completely handbuilt and the company is planning to sell 98 units this year.
As the car won’t hit the showrooms until 2009, we’re guessing this means GTA Motor want to secure that many orders this year.
It is powered by a Pontiac V10 and the company estimates it will be good for 211mph.
It will have a six-speed gearbox and ceramic brakes and this year GTA hopes to produce a 1:1 finished prototype.
Discussion
I predict the following:
It will suffer huge delays
The company will go into liquidation once the current team run out of dosh
Some other idiot will fund it to fulfil a 'dream'
A test mule will be built and then touted as 'nearing production' (basically by repainting it every time a journo is allowed to see it)
It will appear at motorshows in a shell scheme with a couple of dodgy looking 'models' sporting cellulite, dodgy skin and lycra in equal measure
It will finally end up with a low emissions V6
They will price it as 300k Euro
They will then realise no-one want to pay that, so it will drop to 150k euro
Still no-one will buy it
The project will collapse and the investor will cry into his empty bank account
Someone will then try and revive it and create another 3D render
PH and most of the motoring press will cover it as there's not alot of news on and it's been 3 days since a 'supercar' launch
Repeat

A bit like this template for press releases I found on the Sniff Petrol site...It will suffer huge delays

F430 front vents, ascari bonnet/front, veyron rear third with a nsx spolier...
Perhaps this is why all new cars are so ugly, all the good designs have been done, so now you either be original and get a ghastly result, or use the less original designs, create a not bad looking supercar, but get blasted for being a mish-mash.

Guys I am sorry to disagree with you but I do believe that this car is going to be produced and will comply with the specs. This chaps have the support of the "Comunitat Valenciana" (the autonomic goverment) and as you may know they are wiling to enhance everything related to sports cars competition (look at the F1 GP), furthermore the team GTA MOTOR is fairly well known in Spain (ok I know it is not the UK )but they are doing a good job. So, despite what many of you may think it is not going to be the case of Arj forecasts...
