Can anyone reccommend a decent retrimming place in Dorset? Or if not then within 70 miles would be ok - Somerset, Wiltshire, Hants, Surrey? I'm looking to get the back shelf and helmet hole retrimmed in leather rather than tweed or whatever it is!

Cheers MB

Most of us do it ourselves

It's not actually a difficult job at all if you can sew a bit, or know someone who can.

I wouldnt actually mind at some point getting the entire interior of the car retrimmed, dont fancy doing it myself though as i would do a crap job and tend to be a perfectionist.

so i echo, are there any Leather retrimming firms for cars--- and how much roughtly do you think it would cost to get the entire car done.

or.... is there any PHers on here that would do it for me for a price of course

What about the Pimp my ride chaps, there is no doubt they can trim just about anything.
They are based in Bristol I think.
Carisma they are called. The chap Jamie used to work for RR so excelent quality work.

You could try AJ's Trimming, Andy does a fair bit of TVR work.

He did a bit of work in my car a few years ago. I keep thinking about a retrim on mine, but can't justify the cost just because I want a different colour! If I recall correctly it was in the order of £3K for a full retrim including carpets...

Roll Royce. He was the final inspection man, realy think it is worth talking to these guys.
Ok, the bling thing they do is not to my taste, though their work is good.

I had my Cerb door panels, rear shelf and helmet hole retrimmed in Leather by trimmania in Reading. Damn fine job they did too.

I also used them for a new Griff hood and full carpets and both done superbly.

Hi,

I got my drivers seat recovered by Wessex car trimmers in Southampton £200 for cash, excellent job, matched the leather, highly recommend. 02380 224901, SO15 2DN. He said he'd do the shelf but I just haven't got round to it yet would definetly go back though.
Cheers
Rich.

Martrim no longer trim they merely wholesale the hides etc. I've recently had my Griff fully retrimmed by the redundant Martrim workers who have set-up shop for themselves using all theor skills, knowledge and newly sourced A1 grade hides for less than 2K!!!!!!!!!

And the work is absolutely second to none Checkout KRJ trimmers and upholsters on 01606834480 or email Ken: broad467@aol.com. They're in Middlewich (cheshire) across from Torque RVT (independant TVR specialist) who works 24 hours and delivers the goods too. A centre of excellence if there ever was one:grin:

Makes note of that cheers, as some I've seen could do with that, not a problem in itself though. Was a repack/reshape of the side bolster included in that .
