If you look there was a BMW M5 inbetween the Cerb and Chim.....

Simple reasoning, I went for a Cerb as a four seater when my wife got pregnant. Running costs were as expected - substantially higher than the Chim. We had a few complications with the pregnancy and child so I wanted to ensure that whatever car was sitting on the drive could be driven safely by my wife, so I sold the Cerb for an M5 thinking it would give me 80% of the fun of a TVR with 500% of the safety and ease of use for wifey.

Unfortunately the car bored me to tears - 400bhp may sound good on paper, and yes it was quick, but ultimately after a Cerbera it just felt slow and uninvolving! Thus I chopped the M5 in for a Saab estate (for doing practical family things) and then thought that as we had the Saab and an X5 for tooling around it, I wanted another rag-top for fun. Thus I have gone back to a Chimaera, simply because I couldn't find a Griffith in the colour / spec I wanted, and with school fees looming, wifey wasn't happy to let me run with my own budget (so a Tuscan was out )

I have very fond memories of my first Chim, probably because it was also my first TVR, but the Cerbera was a totally different beast. I shall forever be grateful to the fates that I was able to run one for a year and use it every day come rain or shine. Who knows, perhaps if work continues to build up then maybe I'll be able to have a stable of TVRs one day?! In that case, I'll definitely get another. If it doesn't, I may not, but simply because having had a Chim and a Cerb, I'd rather like to try some of the others..... Tamora, Tuscan, Saggyarse etc...

i cnt beleive you are being put of a cerbera.over a audi.......c'mon. you also sed that you own a griff. they are fantastic, not the most reliable but still a great car but by far the best tvr has to be the 4.5 lightweight cerbie. dont hesitate. go out there test drive one and you will be instantly hooked the adrenaline rush as you slowly open the throttle is phonomenal. just make sure you have enough money for four new tyres quite often as they tend to spin. mine is bootin out around 500 hp and i am lovin it!!!!!!!!! if you have any more questions e-mail me at vtec_ben@hotmail.com

Let me see if ive got this right, your lightweight cerbera is producing around 500 bhp?

Care to elaborate???

A Red Rose 4.5 which has head mods and higher spec cam shaft only produces low 400s when set-up correctly!
