Number of UK Taxed cars is declining rapidly, the total decline including SORN is not quite so bad, but it's not good.

Interesting that more and more people are SORN'ing them. I guess that is due to the number that are now "restorations" as opposed to saving a few quid on road tax. I'd hate to have mine SORN'd and know that I couldnt drive it in the winter on the odd nice day.

Just wait until 2016 when the 'Merkins can import them without restriction as classic cars. I can imagine the "Sordfish" Tuscan being particularly attractive...

Seems I'm personally responsible for the decline...just SORN'd! Don't worry, nothing wrong with it - passed MOT at the start of the week. Once I'm gainfully employed again I will wop-my-wallet-on-the-counter, hopefully not long!

Too true, there are some cracking days in winter.

Remember new gov regs means that you have to Sorn it if you dont have insurance on it, even if its living in the garage or storage. So would expect a few more than usual sorn'ed.

Mine's currently sorn'd but only because the tax expired and it's a Dulford Automotive.

Soon as it's back it'll be taxed.

We assume having about 40 Cerbera's here in Germany... numbers going slowly up but we are not the main driver of the decline I would say (we are guilty of many things but not this time).

Maybe the same number (40 in total) in NL, B, Austria, CH,... probably another 10 in France... so not more than 100 outside of the UK.

6 I know of in New Zealand. I suspect a similar number in Ausi (import regs make it harder to get one into the country).
