Discussion
Hi people! Im planning on going to the pod next sunday to see what my little beast can do up the strip....and was wondering if any cerbie owners would like to come along too? I for one would certaintly like to see how well they go etc, as im hoping to join the club soon!!! not sure if anyone would be up for this, but hope so!
Price is £10 to get in and £15 for unlimited runs all day.
Santa Pod (for anyone that doesnt know) is located in the countryside of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
Hope some of you can make it, should be a good day out/mini meet! (nice cool time of the year too!)

!! Mind you does help if the Cerb wasn't still having its 'nip 'n'tuck' in Austec for the new lights at the moment!!!!
Keep me posted how it goes, certainly interested if another one could be arranged always fancied trying that

I would love to have gone but the car needs a new diff/bush, so can't risk it, and the last RWYB is as already mentioned 'the tunnel run' and definately don't want to miss that.
but its something we'll be doing next year, and hopefully arrange a load of other fellow cerbies to go down in convoy

Me definitely. Be sure to come over and say Hello. I'll take you for a spin down the quiet end and see if it picks up better than the yellow one you tested. Mine has a flutter around 2800rpm on a light throttle but that's about the only 'hesitation' i've noticed when driving it.

Gents,
Gave it a miss today. Been raining non-stop up here in yorkshire, and didn't want to waste money driving down to Santa Pod if it's just as wet down there, plus not getting much opportunity to run......been there and been frustrated a couple of times this year already.
So that means I've saved about £60 petrol, £10 entrance fee, £15 running fee, £10 on expensive bacon/sausage cobs.........which I can put towards TCS linked decat pipes.......every cloud.....

I only did 3 runs in the end and left by about 12:30.
Weather was fine though Cyclone and no rain yet either.
I found it impossible to manage a clean get away in first gear. Wheels kept spinning up at the slightest bit of throttle which reflected in my times. A 13.9 was all I manged with a terminal speed of 108mph. My 0-60ft time was around 2.8 secs which just goes to show how tricky the get away was. Other people were managing closer to 2.0 with alot less power!
Didn't see you Liam but maybe you didn't get there until later.

Yes, very top end of third. I tried one run dropping into 4th at 90mph or so thinking that might pull it through better but it didn't. Peek power is 6500rpm ish anyway isn't it?
The annoying thing is on the way home on a normal road I could accelerate away in 1st really well. I reckon if the grip was right at Santa Pod, a mid 12 would have been possible.

scott- thats a shame i must have only just missed you! i didnt get there until 12.00 cos traffic was mad near oxford!
Did also have major probs getting off the line without spinning up! and mines 4wd! was a very slippery day up the strip unfortunately. But hey, the rain did hold off, started to spit in the afternoon, but only stopped play for about half hour. Those are good times tho scot with that term speed too!
Nick - my best run of the day was a 12.8 @ 105mph, and that was with wheelspin off the line too. Its a shame my 3rd gear isnt a tad longer, as i have to go into 4th! my best 0-60ft time was 1.75secs. shame there wasnt more grip, and its a shame i missed you too scott!
cyclone - you missed out on a good day, but like you say, you've now got enough money to buy your decats!

That Nissan of yours obviously goes better than mine did up the strip. I took my Nissan Patrol 7 seater up the strip at last years Retro Cars show last year and managed 19secs!
The thing with my Cerbera is it pulls like the proverbial train once it has traction hence the Okish terminal speed, despite the crap starts. I beat that 'pinkgimp' stripped out prelude though!

12.8 is a cracking time, you must be putting out about 320-340 bhp? Plus your 60ft time is superb at 1.75secs in comparison to my Cerbs 2.1-2.3, a good 60ft often equates to a quicker 1/4 mile time. I want to better my best time of 12.3, I know it will go lower but the conditions have to be right. Even though it was raceable on Sunday the conditions for rwd sound like they weren't that good, so I probably did best not going. Looks like I'll have to look forward to early next year now.

and I'm not missing that.
