Wedge Automotive Sports Exhaust £325. plus vat made from 18/8 stainless lifetime guarantee. Sounds awsome but then again I would say that. Ask Jprichard he has one on his and tell him off for the damage to the screen.

I would suggest that you speak to Richard at Peninsula Automotive on 01884 35341, you can also find Peninsula on the web at www.peninsulauto.co.uk.

These exhausts are also sold by a number of main dailers at much inflated rate.

I had a Sports exhaust fitted to my 4.5 Cerbie about 3 months ago at a cost of around £200 plus labour. However, I warn you the noise is very addictive and you will find yourself craving for more popping, burbling and farting from your car.

Hence why I'm going back for the De-Cat this weekend.

Must admit, I am thinking about one! - My only problem is for track days and these damned noise limits! - Just how much better does one sound?

Isn't there some sort of insert you can add to exhausts to make them pass noise tests?
Is it just me or do other people think its mad that some uk circuits have noise limits, but the same cars that fail these tests are fine for the road

Its due to the licence granted by the council. If the noise limits are exceeded the licence is withdrawn. Cr"p I know but its for the local residents. Same stupid mothers which buy a house near Gatwick and moan about the plane noise.

You can get internal 'traps' that will reduce moise by about 6-8db on a good day, to go any quieter you need external cans which can take you up to 12db lower. You do risk damaging the Cats with back pressure if you go too OTT though. I have a few mods that mean my 4.5 is very loud so have a custom track day exhaust that drops me about to about 102 add in some inserts and I can make most places except goodwood.

That is so ridiculous, most of these circuits especially older ones like goodwood have been around since before these whingers were born. (the same goes for airports too)

Am i right in assuming that these noise limits are allowed to be ignored for a proper race meeting?

Hi cerberus1

Yep as hawhaw points out I have one on mine (nice to know about the lifetime guarantee - thanks!). I can confirm this exhaust sounds absolutely fantastic!!!! I cannot exagerate enough (or spell!). I don't intend to do many track days but can confirm the noise is loud.

When I moved to the cerby from a griff I thought I would miss the 'burble' but this is as close as you will get i'm sure. As I use the car for my regular transport I can also confirm you will never get bored by the sound and everyone/thing will look at you (and probably shake their heads).

The main problem I have found is that in order to get the superb 'popping' soundtrack from the over run, I am using a lot more fuel than I probably need to but then why have the car and not enjoy it??

My advice - get one and get it quick!!! (and I should probably say get it from Wedge, coz that's where mine came from)

wiper park motor now needs doing coz they don't park correctly on intermittent and I'm trying to get some touch up paint but apparently it's one of the 25 colours you can't get from anywhere else but TVR...

Oh - you've got me going now - I think I need one of those exhausts. Can I fit one on my 4.2?

Plus the link to peninsula autos asks for a password - any idea how to get past it?

My 4.5 Cerby is now minus the Cat.
JUST LOOK AT THE FLAMES !!

The exhaust note seems more focused with a sharp increase in the Db level over the Sports Exhaust; put your foot to the floor in 3rd with both the windows down and expect to have a high pitched ringing in your ears for about 5-10 minutes when you get out ......... Bloody marvellous !!
