Don’t they look gorgeous!

And the best bit is, given the tolerances and me being optimistic, I reckon I can claim I joined the 400BHP club too

The background is that I was one of Joolz's first MBE standard re-maps before he took delivery of his own dyno about 18 months ago (also linked de-cats). This in itself transformed the power and smoothness of delivery. At this point, and on Nobles dyno, it delivered 374BHP and 330lb’s of torque. This week I treated myself to a new set of Whirlwind Induction pipes and a bespoke MBE re-map. The three graphs are:
- RED On arrival
- BLUE with the air filter removed
- GREEN new pipes and re-mapped
What the graph doesn’t tell you is what it now sounds and goes like. There is a deep throaty induction roar now on acceleration which sounds fantastic through a standard back box. The acceleration is very smooth, and there is a noticeable increase how rapidly the horizon approaches. Power delivery is instant and neck snapping. Even though the car was running great beforehand the improvement is tremendous. I’m intending on keeping the car for a long time yet in its original (bodywork) condition, and this had made the decision to keep the car so much easier. Driving it is a completely different experience now to the one I had 4 years ago when I first bought the car. I think you’d have to spend upwards of £100k now to improve on the performance and emotional experience.
All in all it was a fantastic day out watching Joolz perform his re-mapping magic. I can't recommend the experience, during and after, enough. Many thanks to Vicky too for many cups of tea.

Very nice
what was happening with the air filter, was it an original type one needing replacing as it picked up over 10hp, which is a lot
.

.Yes the original air filter was standard and has now been replaced with a Joolz special.
Ah that explains it, the K&N panel flows better than the foam original, I'm assuming Joolz still gets these from RT, although the original will flow ok for a few hundered miles when cleaned before it drops off.
I'm sure on a different day with differing barometrics it would nudge over the 400 barrier, what were the wheel figures out of interest

No Joolz doesn't use the K&N Filter (good filter but expensive and still clogs up easily), he uses a more cost effective but equally if not more efficient filter. He has been using these for a while now in various guises

Top result and good write up Phil.

Ooops....wheres my hanky! Do love the look of the 4.5 bay.

So do all there re-mappers achieve similar figures, or is there a preferred re-mapper to do the work?
Reason I ask is that I know of a Cerbera that was mapped without any induction mods, just a sports exhaust and std cats...produced 401 BHP.

different cars on different rollers produce different results, that's about as much as you can say.

Is part of the problem the original induction pipes shrink in diameter with the heat causing a constriction too?
I understand that the original pipes can squeeze together under full throttle limiting air flow. As to the technical explanation for short pipe, this to Joolz and Cyclone territory.

Verrrry nice Phil, think we'll be doing the same sometime soon hopefully!!(I remember seeing that car 18months ago there, just back from a respray/wheel refurb?) Looks gorgeous bonnet up and down
Thanks. Yes, you're correct. From recollection your Cerb is a similar blue so would look just as good!

they look the mutts nuts,
Mine is going to Jules in two weeks for whirlwind (so blue ones please Jules).
The maestro managed to squeeze 412 bhp out of mine last time it was dynoed so with a bit of luck will be even more horses.

412BHP already, fantastic. You should crack the factory stated 420BHP then on your next visit.
