.....my CD Changer's packed up and I don't really wanna pester Castles to fix it so does anyone know of any good reliable Car Audio places in the East/North London or Essex area I can go to that has experience with TVR, especially Cerbs?

The word 'ERROR' appears on the head unit when I select the Changer. Checked the cables in the boot and all looks OK without tracing it right back to the head unit. It's an Alpine unit and when I insert the cartridge it doesn't pull any discs in.

Cheers, T

May be stupid but......
Are the discs the right way up in the cartridge

I'd check whether the connector is still attached behind the head unit. There should be one that connects the changer to head unit. Its easy to pull out the whole unit to checkit.
Also check that you/someone else has not messed with the setting up of the head unit..., like kids pressing buttons.

Sorry, it's the kind of thing my dad does, changes his discs once a year, or puts a new one in, he's only just got enough cd's to fill his 10 disc changer anyway, just drops them in the holes and then I get a call 'theres something wrong with my cd player' put the discs in the right way and away he goes
So if thats not it, I'd go for the unplug everything and plug it back in route 1st

Cheers chap, I reckon it could be the back of the head unit as I was throwing her around a bit over the weekend and could of popped out .....enough about the girlfriend.....

I don't like touching things like this, the last thing I wanna do is mess up the Cerbera's complicated and convoluted electrical system, I'd rather have someone else to blame for that

Checked the settings and no kids I'm afraid, hence purchasing the Cerbera

Mr T.....before you buy any expensive stuff.....give Ian or Darren a ring at Castles.

They are really helpful and may have come across the problem before....could be a simple fix.

Worth a shot....it's only a 'phone call

I'm sure you've tried this already, but I have a similar problem sometimes with mine when I take the face out of the car - sometimes when replaced it doesn't work & comes up with the word ERROR. Simply removing & replacing has always cured this for me.

Did you try to press the *RESET* button on both units (cd changer and alpine)?, Just a thought...!
Otherwise... Bye bye "old" Alpine!
