Anyone got any hints on cleaning the grime out of the TVR bonnet badge? Mine's looking tired and dull so could do with a good clean. Tries Autosol but got most of it left in the grooves.

cheers

I just used a tiny screwdiver to get into the grooves to get all the grime out. I then got a permanent black marker an coloured in the faded black bits. Looks as good as new when the job's done!

On the subject of badges - where can I get a new boot badge? I think the gradual build up of wax (I do try and avoid getting it on btw!!) has caused the badge to go white - no matter what I do it does not seem to clean - you can't see the lovely "4.5" anymore!!

Personally I swapped both badges for Leven Technology ones. Basically they are remanufactured badges either chrome or gold plated and painted black or a colour of your choice then sealed with a thick plastic coating. Hence no gaps to up with fill with polish and no paint falling off when you use the rear one.

I highly recommend the Leven badges - replaced my rear badge some months ago ( see www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=6&h=0&t=40089 ). The Leven badge looks fantastic - and they even recycle your badge for someone else!

For the front, I simply remove, clean out all the crap, give it the shine of its life and then repaint the black lines using the finest modelling paint - works a treat.

Cheers,

Me 2! Father Christmas bought my Bonnet Badge from Leven last Christmas, with the boot badge being a birthday pressie. Makes my classy car look even classier!

Keith,

Is that "Cerbera 4.5" badge on the front or back?? Odd question I know but it looks like it's on the front of your car!!

It's the rear....I probably have a pic somewhere of the Front, but it is a similar design, gold metal, with a black infill, encased in a resin of some description.
