really need some help

drivers door closes fine but interior light stays on and door will not lock - car obviously thinks the door is still open. got the panel off and wd40 on all connectors - question is: there is a magnet on the body and a bolt on the door which seem to make the connection - this has two blue wires to it is there a way of getting around this connection as a quick fix - if it starts raining i am in trouble!

pulled the magnet off - there doesnt seem to be anything behind - stuck it back on again and ran a wire from the door bolt to the magnet - made no difference. once read that there is a control box in the boot for the alarm but am unsure where that is or if it is associated.

many thanks for the replies - I have pulled the blue wires from their connections, disconnectin gone of them sends the window up to the top but I cannot see why the magnet needs to be a magnet and not just a piece of metal to complete the circuit - however I managed to get the window up so at least I can use it - i will try to get a replacement switch and put that in to see if it fixes it. From doing a search on magnets, it seems that this is a common problem although no one is saying how to fix it - like everything else, every car seems to be different.
