Saw it last Saturday, pretty straight and felt as good as the one I had many years ago. Needs a touch of TLC but nothing too bad so did a deal. Pick it up on Saturday morning.

Nice to get back to a Cerbie after three years.

I noticed it had been sold, are you keeping your Griff as well?

Yes so that I can take the Cerb off the road if necessary and still have a reasonably non-nutter TVR to drive in. The 520 will be rebuilt and upgraded over the winter so it makes sense to continue with the Griff as the shopping trolley. And yes it is part of the research for a Cerbie book.

Also part of my thinking was to have a hi miler to counter the whinging that can go on. I must admit that I have been coming to the conclusion that the combination of use and regular servicing is the road to reliability rather than a car that stands for most of its life doing nothing.

shpub -- is yours on the original engine? Which parts have been replaced and which are original?

Original engine with clatter cam. No bits have been replaced from the service history or from inspecting it apart from service items. Still on its original front brake disks as well with no judder! Handbrake even works

Looks exactly like the 4.2 I had in 97/98. It has been regularly serviced and looked after as it was a company car and that is where the miles were put on.

Currently it will designated as "runabout" with the Griff still "shopping trolley". It is going to be given a thorough going over/strip down in the next few months to get the material for the book. At this point I will probably move the Griff on and raise the Cerbie to Shopping Trolley status and everyday transport.

Hi Steve, was this a grey Cerbera in Coventry?

I've also got a high milage Cerbera (''97 4.2)with 87k miles on it. On the original engine and cams too!

Yes it was. Been watching it for some time. Fortunately it hadn't gone before I could make a move.

I like the idea of a high mile club or group. Might help counter some of the negative vibes...
