To save you wading through the thread, the details for the trip are as follows: Spa Trek '09 - Sunday 4th October is purely a travelling day. We head out on the 10am ferry and make our way to Spa. We're staying at the Best Western Auberge hotel.
- Monday 5th October is the Spa trackday, organised by circuit-days.co.uk. 8am-ish start and a full day's open pitlane event from 9am-6pm.
- Tuesday 6th October you have the option of a second day at the circuit, or the more leisurely (and popular) option of a convoy hoon up to Antwerp (route to be decided). We are staying at the Holiday Inn in Antwerp.
- Wednesday 7th October we travel back to Dunkirk to get the ferry. Plenty of time in hand to stop for lunch on the way, hoon around etc, before the ferry leaves at 4pm.
How to Book:FerryGo to: www.norfolkline.co.ukOutbound: Dover-Dunkirk, Sun 4th Oct, 10:00. Return: Dunkirk-Dover, Wed 7th Oct, 16:01. Spa Hotel (Auberge)Go to: www.bestwestern.com and book L'Auberge hotel. Check in 4th, check out 6th. Trackday- email gary@northloop.co.uk and request a discount for the circuit days Spa trackday on the 5th (and 6th if you fancy doing both). Gary can give you a code to use for a reduced rate compared with booking direct. - call Chris at circuit-days.com on 01302 743827, quoting the code and pay by credit card. Antwerp Hotel (Holiday Inn)- go to www.booking.com- enter antwerpen for the destination - 6th Oct checkin (Tuesday), 7th Oct checkout - click Search - locate Express by Holiday Inn Antwerp City North - click Book now button on the right Feel free to deviate from the above plan - all are welcome whether they attend the trackday or not, and whatever car they drive. FarmyardPants said: Hi chaps/lasses. Was out in the cerb in the sun at the weekend and was thinking about our annual continental pilgrimage (or rather if there is going to be one). Spa was fab last year and I'd love to go back. The 'ring is a poor second It's my 40th at the end of May and I have the WAF already so I'm keen to spend it Short notice maybe, but worth a shot. Failing the usual ring/trackday format, how about more of a hoon eg to south France/Spain/Italy, eg a round trip with 3 overnight stays en route? Any suggestions/takers in principle for such a venture? Happy to do some organising.. PS been out of the loop for a bit so if there's already a cerb trip planned please point me in the right direction

My perfect hoon around Europe: Start off with a quick trip over the 'Ring for a couple of laps. Next day head down to Geneva, through the Mont Blanc tunnel staying over night close to Lake Como in Italy. Next day would be a trip up to Stelvio Pass in NE Italy, and then once again another stop over around the lakes. Driving along the Italian/French coast over to Monaco, and then a quick diversion to the Millau Bridge on the way back, perhaps stopping in Paris before getting back in to the country.

Hi Chaps I don't know what anybody else was thinking about but........a few of us are planning to go over to Spa for a 2 day trackday in Oct. It would broadly be as follows
Sun 4th Oct travel out to Spa Mon 5th Oct Spa Trackday Tue 6th Oct Spa trackday Wed 7th Oct travel back to UK
The cost would be £900 to £1000 depending on hotels and either the Euro Tunnel of Ferry.
So what do you think.

So what do you think. Two days at Spa? Full on. I can just imagine your morning routine Graham - race downstairs, late brake for Hall (heel and toe into slippers), drift through Kitchen Island and handbrake round Fridge. Can only manage one trip though so if this turns out to be "the one" I'll be there. I like the sound of Jammy's hoon though.

So what do you think. Two days at Spa? Full on. You could always cut the trip/tracktime short by a day. 2 days is optional Im in Graham. And a couple of days before my birthday again. You'd almost think we'd planned it

Just put the phone down to TC and was about to call you for a heads up on this thread mate Lots of variables ATM. TC and I were wondering if 2 days of track time may be a bit wasted on our driving talents (not brave enough to try and stop Mad Graham doing both days) and exploring the possibility of some of us doing some local(ish) exploring in the cars on the Tuesday with a spot of lunch thrown in somewhere along the route. Tack day come mini Euro tour?

The track day is with Circuit Days and is £279 for each day. Another option which is on their web site, they do an all inclusive package that includes both trackdays, ferry and hotel and is £999.
