It was advertised a couple of weeks ago for £7.5k by someone desperate to sell. Perhaps it was bought by a dealer who's hoping to make a quick buck.

its been boucing about for a while now, 11k a few months ago, i think its the same owner. you do get alot of timewasters out there though so i can understand their frustration.
i thought you couldn't get the gearbox all the way out unless the engine was removed though! or am i wrong? ifso 800 repair seems a little optamistic

6.5k is cheap, if you were cheeky you might get it for 6k biggrin

no history of an engine rebuild though (i asked) but you never know it could be one of the better built ones scratchchin

Looks value if you get a 4.3 upgrade with 3 year warranty. The gearbox can be rebuilt when the engine is out by someone like gearboxman on the plus side the removal and refitting costs for the box are lost in the rebuild costs scratchchin.

I was just about to wade into a new post to ask whether this was the value it seemed...!

So, is the £800 for a new gearbox optimistic then? If it was £1500 all in and the engine was in good enough shape, then £8000 is pretty good still isn't it? Even for a SP6?

I actually don't think the interior looks that bad paperbag

so the question that needs to be asked is will a 4.3 speed six cerb beat a 4.5? any one running one?

quite like the interior too, don't know what a gearbox rebuild is going to be but its a fairly common box so shouldn't be too bad maybe you could fit a 6th gear and crack the magic 200mph idea
to get the engine out is going to cost you about 1k at a garage but its only nuts and bolts so you could go DIY

Don't know why I'm thinking this but isn't there something specifically difficult about getting a SP6 out of a Cerb...? I know its not impossible - obviously - but seem to remember it being moer difficult than a AJPV8...? Maybe my brains frazzled...need more coffee...

I dont understand all this engine out mallarky? my gearbox has been out 3 times since i bought my car (speed 6 also).

£800 to fit a replacement 2nd gear and referb the rest? can't see that being too much of a problem.

43k on a S6 though?? hmmm could be pushing it, but it might just be one of the good ones.

haggle for £6k and get a power 4.3 rebuild just for piece of mind, could have an extremely good car for £15k ish

the question was can you get the box out without removing the engine?

yes

ETA sorry should have made that clearer on my previous post, my gearbox has been out 3 times without having to remove the engine

EETA Can I just ask, why wouldn't you be able to get the gearbox out without removing the engine?

I would go for the 4.3 as well but from STR8SIX, Jason there has a supercharged one built up ready for a Sagaris. I understand that he is turning it down to 500BHP to run it in and will then start turning it up, should be good for over 600.cloud9
