My slave is leaking so (I think) the whole lot needs to come out, which is a £300 odd labour charge.

Clutch was last done at 27k, now on 34k, so it's only done 7,000 miles, so I was thinking perhaps, whilst it's out, have the clutch done at the same time.

Any ideas what a clutch is likely to cost please? I can see one for £620 on RG.

Another £1k to find without driving the car this year rolleyes oh the joys hehe

Give Raceproved a call. I think they can do a clutch for less than that. Mine was certainly less but I am having loads done so am not yet clear on prices, costs etc

I've just had the slave replaced, but didn't go for a new clutch as mine was only fitted 9000 miles ago and I was told it looked in good condition. Also haven't got the money for a new clutch so I will take the chance and hope it lasts until my finances are looking better smile

Go for a Raceproved clutch and slave. It has better quality friction discs, stronger diaphram and thicker hardened fingers which won't snap. The RP slave is also a redesign with better sealing and without the leaking issues std slaves have

Alternatively, just get the friction plates relined. Auto and Industrial did mine, they need relining to a total thickness of +/- 8mm per plate.

It cost about £100 for the 2 plates, so long as there are no high spots on the pressure or intermediate plate then that should do it.

I had my pressure, intermediate plates and flywheel skimmed and added the amount of material removed from them to the friction material to keep the clutch pack the same size. Machining was about £75 iirc.

It's all back in place now and working fine so I'm happy to recommend them.

Thats pretty good. I am paying quite a bit less than that for the RP lightened fly and RP clutch.
