I've bought a few Ferrais not Enzo's but to be honest, trust me it would knock lumps off the value!. The vast majority are not driven like this!. Just the previous owners name on the logbook will seal it's fate I'd say that car would be very difficult to have it's history masked, it's an Enzo not a Mondeo!.

Could you explain what exactly has been done to the car to de-value it?
It's been on you tube being ragged about! THis will de value the car!.

Except when people spend that much money on a car, it isn't bought from an advert on Autotrader or Pistonheads, it will have its own inspection done and be bought in good faith from the dealer. It's a whole different game to buying a 'normal' car, and it means the rules change. I have seen customers before making sure they don't get a low mileage car, as there can be issues with oil seals etc, one that has been used daily will probably be more reliable and nicely bedded in etc

I'm not saying it won't devalue it, I'm saying it won't definitely devalue it.

Great taste in cars along with the physical ability and land to drive them to the limit, what's not to like? Awesome!

This crass display of insouciance is not to my taste. Sorry

Whats next ? a Starbucks Senior Exec incinerating an original Monet on youtube just because he can.

Love the car and some good car control.
Totally agree with you, very poor taste, have some respect for the machine!
Whats he actually done to it though? driven it moderately hard over some slightly uneven roads with some mud on them and done a few donuts.

None of that will have hurt the car other than the odd stone chip and using a little bit of rubber.

And that wont have had any negative effect on the car's value either. I dont recall Nick Mason's Enzo selling fro less because Clarkson hammered it around a track.

It hasn't been raced, or rallied, you have used the title of the video as a fact, whereas its actually been driven quickly down the equivalent of a country lane for a couple of minutes.

Through some puddles.

Your definitions of "ragged about" and "been on the internet" have no intrinsic effect on the value of the car, it hasn't been crashed, it hasn't been driven over anything other than a pretty smooth piece of tarmac. Its been driven hard - but it was built to be (look at Dario Bernuzzi testing one with clients at Fiorano, its on Youtube somewhere) by someone that knows what they are up to.

I bow to your superior knowledge of buying high end cars!

My experience is otherwise, People spending the thick end of a million pounds on a car are not always lottery winners they are more often shrewd business that protect their investment. Treatment of a car in that manner would indicate it's getting a hard life which is its owner’s prerogative but it comes at a price.

That's exactly my point, it will be checked thoroughly before buying, and will be valued according to condition.

Unfortunately I've never bought a high end car hehe, I have performed some of the pre-purchase checks and reports though.

But like I say, I'm only saying it won't definitely devalue it.

Having the same previous owner didn't seem to have that effect on the value of this:

I liked the EB110 video on the same channel. Lovely car. As for the Enzo, a quick look at the likes of Wrecked Exotics will show cars being given far, far more abuse on the street.

Loved the video. Some jealous people on this thread though, isn't there?

Honestly, it seems like kind of a waste to have such an awesome car and not use it. To the people disgusted by the thought of an expensive car getting some mud on it... maybe you're on the wrong forum. wink

Pretty much...

I'm sorry, but, just because a video got posted of it driving through puddles, doesn't mean its worth any less...

I've many clients with supercars, a few are pampered and rarely see sunlight, others are driven how they were intended, hard on the road or track, or several thousand mile european road trips stopping by at the 'ring...The cars come to me absolutely obliterated with bugs, mud, tar, stone chips...

Given a few days they leave looking better than new, job done. Owner had fun (like the guy with the enzo) and then had it cleaned...Not much of an issue when it comes to resale i'd say..

Oh I see.
Presumably then Nick Masons Enzo is worth the square route of fk all as not only did he let Jeremy Clarkson slide it around but The Stig ragged it silly setting a lap time in it.

These people who buys and sell Hypercars really have no idea about maintaining their value do they? I mean surely everyone understands that driving a fast car fast wipes massive amounts from its future value.

Blimey, there's some communistical crap on here today, I thought I was reading the Grauniad at one point.

Something I believe hasn't been pointed out yet is the rather excellent camera work - the tripod shots were excellent quality, and I'm sure the hand-held shots would be just as good if a steadi-cam were to become involved...

Nice work lads!

PS: More corners next time please!

I like this one, its much cheaper than the other Enzo's for sale in the UK.

I wonder if it has been ragged on camera?

This. Other than some puddles and a tiny bit of mud, it's had no worse treatment than what it'd get on Top Gear.
