I have little time for low-mileage supercars and little sympathy for the viewpoint which actively discourages driving a 'driver's car'.
It may not suit you Sir but we are all different, some people take as much joy just owning and cleaning a supercar as others do driving them. I honestly cannot see the fun in owning a supercar and deriving your pleasure from polishing it.
My own little sports car isn't going to hold a candle to the expensive stuff on this forum but when I wake up early on a Sunday morning and the sun is shining, I have two choices: drive into the North Yorskhire Dales and give it a thrashing; clean and polish it. I always pick going for a drive. It's always filthy because driving is the best thing you can do in such a car. And an Enzo - how can you enjoy the engineering in it when it's sat still. You can admire it, but to derive proper enjoyment you want to hear it, smell it, feel it...
Nick Mason's Enzo which has been driven mercilessly on track by none less than Mark Hales was for sale about 18 months ago, at the same time as Jenson Button's timewarp example. I'd have taken Mason's every time.
In fact, my all-time favourite motoring quote comes from Mason, "a car only achieves its true beauty being driven near the limit of its potential". Amen to that.
PS - I respect anyone's right to polish their car. It's just different to my own viewpoint.

Does any one know the details of this Enzo, as when i am looking to buy i what to avoid this trashed from cold, over revved, muddy wheel arches over used one. TIA.
You can better Ferrari dealers will know EXACTLY which on it is ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
It's sad that a video which is basically "man uses fast car as it's intended to be used" is somehow notable.
He could be driving it around Knightsbridge in a desperate attempt not to look rich and useless instead??
It's only mud and carbon fibre - it's not like it's towing a caravan (there's your next video!!)

Unless of course it is only worth 1% of your yearly income, or 1/20th of a different car you just sold, or you use it daily. As I said earlier, it's all about perspective.
It's got nothing to do with value that's the whole point!I would consider it just as poor to do the same with an MGB.

If it was driven safely on a circuit would you even watch it?...would you even be here to express your outrage?
Go write to the daily mail or something and complain about bin collections.
A circuit is one of the places where one would expect it to be driven. What are you going on about?Go write to the daily mail or something and complain about bin collections.

Again, what damage has he done to it?
A bit of mud (which washes off so I'm told) and a few donuts.
The car has been put under no more stress than a few quick laps of Silverstone.
It's like putting HP sauce on boeuf bourguignon or standing up in the middle of an opera and farting.A bit of mud (which washes off so I'm told) and a few donuts.

It's chav/redneck behaviour FFS.

As you say you respect their right to polish a car, given a thread on here where someone fastidiously maintains their vehicle and has it concourse, everyone will say fair play, that's a beautiful car....
BUT on the other side show a supercar being driven how it was intended and being used for FUN and they take the moral high ground, "chav" and boyracer blah balh blah.... that's the difference....the vast majority of enzos are sat in a private stables somewhere not being used..which is a shame..like JayKay said about his Miura, hes uses his so kids can see it blasting by...being used

A Citroen Saxo is "just" a car.
Cars like the one in the video are works of art and love and have a soul. They shouldn't be treated like this.
Driven on a circuit yes but not around a muddy farm FFS.
If a car cost you a hundred quid (which could be an equivalent to this bloke) would you care about driving it around some slightly muddy lanes?Cars like the one in the video are works of art and love and have a soul. They shouldn't be treated like this.

However thrashing it around a muddy dirt track is just unnecessary, this chap might have loads of money and ofcourse he can do what he likes but to big him up for it is just daft.

For me it's not about affordability, its about using a car for what it's designed and an Enzo isn't designed to be thrashed around farmers yards and dirt tracks. Fine take it on track and give its head upto 200 miles an hour, hit the brakes so it nearly pulls your face off that's what it's designed for, Put loads of miles on it etc, I'm the first to hate the garage queen cultre.

There is no higher purpose, its not in some imaginary super league of cars. If it is being driven and enjoyed, it is 100% fulfilling its intended purpose.
As for unnecessary, its a 650bhp V12 mid engined supercar. Everything about it is unnecessary. He is being bigged up because its nice to see someone using a car rather than polishing it.
