Ha a reply from redwedge and it would appear your fans are working well... and seeing as they're sealed units unlike the originals, they'll probably continue to work well for a lot longer than the ferrari ones!

As a guide, my temp gauges sit dead centre, including middle fo the day yesterday. they tend to drop a bit when cruising on motorway but otherwise, straight up is where it should all be.

As Jonty said, the fans in my car have given no problems at all. Oil and water temp gauges both sat just shy of 12 o'clock in heavy traffic on my way back from a karting session at Rye House (highly recommended btw) in Saturday afternoon's scorching sunshine. On a slightly-related note (well, it should run cooler than standard), I've had a kevlar clutch fitted which, if you're interested in, you can read all about here: http://www.clubscuderia.co.uk/forum/showthread.php...

Thanks for the advice with this chaps, my fan turned up last week and set about changing it in stages whenever I got a minute.

The mounting kit provided is not the greatest, didn't quite expect it to be cable ties! But the fan really does do the trick! Tried it out yesterday in some high temperatures while accompanying 2 runners on the last leg of their 260 mile run from Edinburgh to Rotherham!

Anyway, the fan performed very well. I think I'll have to revisit it though when winter sets in and I have a bit more time to mess about with the car. It could do with having a decent bracket rather than the cable ties that allow for a bit of play.

Still cant exactly complain for a £21 fix!

Who said Ferraris were expensive to run?

It's not the greatest fixing kit in the world, but will never rust :-)

Should just mention at this stage to anyone following that it is necessary to modify the original wiring plug slightly, I cut before the original plug in order that if it did not work it could be reversed to STD again.

I did the same regarding the plug! As you say, the who thing wont rust, and hey, if it breaks in a couple of years, its only £21 for a brand new one!!!!

Temperature wise, despite it being in the high twenties yesterday it staeyed to the left of 12 o'clock on the gauge!

Yes, holy thread resurrection, but just thought I would note that one of the eBay fans fitted by PO TISPKJ has just given up the ghost. That's a good ten years (on and off) and 10k miles out of it. I'll replace it with... another one the same. If only for the fitting "kit".

happy days! 10 years is decent going for a fan that does so much work...

The eBay link to these replacement fans is long expire…is there any more information to enable identification and purchase?
