I watched this this morning and was impressed to be fair. However then I watched a GT3 RS lap with passenger, less power and infinitely better noise post a 7:14. Driver reckons 7 dead is possible without passenger or traffic. But that's just me and my irrational love for Porks at the moment....

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

GT3RS laps 7:20, slower than even Turbo S and significantly slower than GT R. Still Porsche have a great marketing strategy for GT cars biggrin

It is a good lap.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo is 2 seconds faster round the Nurb and almost half the price of an AMG GT R.
My mates skateboard with a Hayabusa lump strapped to it is 5 seconds faster again and cost 38 pence.
Ah but which tyres .... MPSC2 or Pirelli Trofeos - depending on which car you want to compare it to, one of these is the faster one and makes any comparison irrelevant

I suspect you were watching a btg lap which is ~20 seconds slower than the industry t13 lap that the merc did in 7:11 for Sportauto. Unless that youtube guy is significantly faster than Porsche factory drivers, the 991RS isn't going to do 7:14 nevermind 7:00.....

And if you've driven round that place and you're very grudgingly only 'impressed to be fair' by that lap, i salute your driving skills.... wink

One of the optional paint colours is £10k on the Merc, another is £8k.

In fact all the options are eyewateringly expensive. Even a GTS can be specced to over £140k so I imagine the AMG GTR could nudge close to £200k.

Awesome car though.

I've done mine to £157k, couldn't face the £10,690 for Solarbeam as much as I wanted it - black with a yellow wrap it shall be!

It was one of your videos that informed me of the 10k paintjob. Lovely but a bit pricey for paint. Probably more than my RB5 is worth.

In contrast the nitrous blue paint on my RS was £750 or so.

Awesome car theAMG GTR although I still think your Ford GT will be pick of the bunch. Been driving it on Forza recently (about as close as I'm likely to get).

Wow I can't keep it below £165k! Mercedes have been very clever/annoying with their options list this time around so even if you want some minor changes you have to take select a whole package with a bunch of other stuff which you may not necessarily want!
