Gallardo Driveshaft Noise ???????
Discussion
doesn;t guarantee success, sorry......
my car last year had the diff oil changed and the additive added.... at extremes of lock, particularly in reverse, it still made that noise...
following the full service this year, when the diff oil was changed again, no additive stated on the invoice, noise much better but still occurs in reverse and full lock....
so it is 'normal' behaviour......

Could be something else, steering can make noise on full lock? Sounds like a PITA 70p...my car last year had the diff oil changed and the additive added.... at extremes of lock, particularly in reverse, it still made that noise...

i will pay closer attention as to where it is coming from... could be noise from the steering pumps at full lock, could be the front diff......
TBH never paid much attention to it as my car has been checked over at various points by 4 main dealers in the last two years, so if it didn;t bother them whilst they had it in the workshop, with an opportunity to bill the customer for rectification, can;t be a problem surely....

I had this problem on my last Gallardo and my current one. Massively worse on my current one. Knocking noises grinding etc front and rear. I was advised to use the Jaguar additive which I did. It didnt work. So I took my car to Mike Pullen who added his mystery additive and all noises went. It was a real relief, as I thought it may have been very serious going by the noises.
Pic of the additive that didnt work.

Mines definitely noise coming from rear, someone earlier in the thread explained it perfectly, but lots of noise from the rear clunking etc when setting off whilst turning, worse the more lock you have on the steering..... and as they said the rear feels as if its skitting (I realise I just made up that word!) about a bit as you move away on the turn. Once away the car is a dream and no noise at all in any other circumstance other than take off whilst turning.TBH never paid much attention to it as my car has been checked over at various points by 4 main dealers in the last two years, so if it didn;t bother them whilst they had it in the workshop, with an opportunity to bill the customer for rectification, can;t be a problem surely....
Brilliant feedback guys........ I'm reassured that a. its pretty normal b. it doesnt sound life threatening c. can be improved with diff oil gluup that someone knowing what they are doing will be able to get hold of!
ps........ dont want to head off topic but I live in Beds area..... where would you take it to find that 'someone who really knows what they are doing on Lambos'? Want to see if its different from where it curently goes!

You would have to speak to Mike Pullen. I don't have a clue what it was called. Everyone I spoke to previously including Lambo were recommending that Jag stuff. Perhaps it does work for some, but didn't for me.Superstones said:

the mechanical noise is the differential working. lamborghini high wycombe simply changed the oil for something with the code "saf xj" : nothing to do with jaguar xj ! google it Brilliant feedback guys........ the dull noise is the tyres getting wound up and jumping. i simply replaced my block drive with 32 tons of loose cotswold stone
i'm in bucks and happy to have a listen
