Excellent viewing, and good series though!
I guess that's the main thing?

Compared to Bernie & Mario on ''Classic Car Rescue'' which is the other end of the spectrum. Utter dross.

F40 Engine won't fit back in chassis at the last minute? No problem. Don't actually straighten the chassis just cut out the engine mount and weld it back on so it fits.

Pedal box won't fit? No problem. Bash the bulkhead in with a hammer for clearance.

What a shoddy fvcking job. I actually enjoyed the series but the blatently made up F40 drama plus the workmanship was so disappointing I dont bother with it any more.

I'm very late to the party here; it was on Discovery yesterday. I really enjoyed the episodes and it was disappointing to see the bodges, but overall I think it was done to a high standard.

I think a lot of restorations that aren't aired on TV probably do worse. I do wonder how the pedal box didn't fit, that one is lost on me as it clearly fitted prior to the strip down.

The engine mount removal and re-welding is unforgivable though, they could have fixed that properly.

Does not compute. I enjoy fnl but the boys should stick to old American iron where a foot or two out doesnt matter

Enjoyed the episodes but the LED headlights they fitted made me heave yuck

I've watched a few more episodes which are entertaining, but give me Wheeler Dealers any day.

Their F40 is going up for Auction in January.

It will be interesting to see what it makes. Dennis currently has it for sale at $1.2m on his site!

Im still astounded that after all of the incredibly precise pulling and pushing of the frame to get it into line on that special machine, they had to cut off and reposition one of the engine monunts by about 2 inches!

Hmm you're right. I meant that they did a lot right, but they also did a few big things wrong.

I'll be watching what it goes for, but I think it will be $X million minus whatever the buyer thinks it will cost to change the wheels, headlights and front bumper back.

What happened to the red "F40" on the rear wing?

The red F40 logo does seem to be missing and are the seats different, now? These look better, though I'd prefer them in red!

Can someone post the sold price, if I forget to look, please?!

IIRC The logo on the rear wing of an F40 is only on one side.

The pictures on that site do not show the side with the logo.

Should have gone for more!

Without fees that's $645k.

I think they had about $700k in the car?

I think "they" exaggerated a bit!

As others have said there is no way they paid what was shown for the crashed shell. The TV show is about entertainment and the F40 is one where they really stretched the truth. Watch it again with the knowledge that Dennis ultimately "buys" it and you will realize that Richard isn't a great actor.

Yeah, I watched this and was in two minds about them totally changing the car... as said though you assume if a Ferrari specialist would of seen the value in a 100% original repair they would of bought it first.

some of those parts had some big prices though....
