Will admit I have pulled off some good moves in life and business - but will also confess to some truly stupid moves that have left me wondering if there must be two of me because surely I couldn't be that dumb!

Started a little chat with another 'car nut' approximately two months ago about the absurd thought of me selling up, not sure if this chap is a hypnotist or sliped me some substance but the car is now in his garage, and in my garage is a Renault Clio!! Obviously I now have a few quid sloshing about but unfortunately that is offering no anesthetic to kill the pain.

I have owned over 200 NICE cars but the Diablo 6 litre is the top of my tree, with no where else to go I will try and love the Clio..Wish me luck..By the left I am going to need it!

One redeeming thought though is it has a new custodian who is one hell of a nice bloke whom I am sure will love it as I did and after getting to know him I am confident he is sharper than me and will not be cajoled into selling it!!

Financial hit or win? STATUS QUO Reckon the Diablo 6 is as good an investment as you can get at the moment with values possibly creeping up. Owned what is IMO the most incredible car ever made. Came out more or less as I went in!

Post some pics of the new chariot Jonny.
You are joking?? Well it is a sort of fun Clio with the lump on the back seats, still in P/Heads classified as sold 06 in liquid yellow!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have taken custody of Jonathons lovely Diablo 6.0 VT, just want to thank Jon for all his help, as you know he is a 'Good Guy' not many of them around these days, he even delivered the car to my front door! at 7.50am on a Saturday morning, that is worth getting up for!!! Jon looked after the car fantasticly, very unfortunatley on my 4th drive in it on Saturday a couple of warning lights came on, air bag, engine check & left bank engine, car still drove perfect and sounded perfect, I took it to Lambo Brum on Wednesday, they still have it, done a diagnostic check: miss fire and running rich, plus air bag resistance high or something like that? the tech's have checked the connections and reset the faults, now not showing any faults?? just waiting for a dry day to take it out and road test, if ok pick up after Easter. So fingers crossed may only have been loose connection? still waiting to see what they say, Chris in service is looking after me and the car, so far all well, impresssed with people there, still waiting for a reply from Italy on my 'Grey Key' request, as this was not with the car, Jon had everything else, I mean everything!!
Thanks again to Jonathon.

Where do you go after a Diablo?

There is only one answer...

...and it is the simplest answer to a difficult question...

the prices for the 6.0 diable seem to be on the up as of late, loads of choice in this price bracket but none convey the drama of the diablo

the counter-intuitive solution is either;

1096 Ducati
OR
original Fiat 500 Abarth

This is part of the reason as to why I am Peed off. Don't get me wrong the Diablo was only reluctantly sold as things where getting a bit tight after my other half has agreed to buy another nearby field - apparently this we must own or she is going to have to sell one of the horses!! which was my plan all along..

So for now a large slice of the wedge has been wasted so I am not in a position to even contemplate betterment in the car department, but even if I was, there is nothing else out there with the equvilent price tag to consider. Afraid I for one, no matter how well off, would never feel comfortable driving something worth over 100k.

Feeling down at the moment but heyho at least the beloved wife and daughter are happy and if they are - I am!!

another fine alternative in the Adrenaline stakes.
You could fit the Ducati, Fiat and Ariel all in the same garage and still have change

That's fair enough mate - everyone has to move with the times as it were...

In that case, who says you have to get something 'madder' - when things are back where they were for you, just get another Diablo biggrin

It will still be just as awesome in a few years time!

Stop getting emotional jonny lol!! It's water under the bridge and you've done the diablo thing now. Why don't you get some trackdays done in the clio? I've already done a few this year and plan on doing a lot more when the r500 turns up next month. You'd have more fun on track in the clio than you ever could on road in the diablo.

Hi Martin

Funny you should mention 'track days' as my yearly trip to the Ring is not too far off and the Clio is coming..Now this car is interesting, not that fast but have to admit it is rather challenging getting the best out of it. It really does remind me of every 911 I have ever owned except this car REALLY does feel like it is trying to kill me at every bend, loads of grip, good steering feel, but on a knife edge is putting it mild... Still it sure keeps one alert if pressing on!! Suppose it does make me feel alive trying not to die, great fun

I have had a v6 before, great car unless you put cheap tyres on the back, nearly lost it at 110mph on a corner. Fancy coming down to the cheddar gorge meet on sunday, would be good to see you again sweety!!
