... there were a no rhd Diablo GT cars at all Rocco, though some people might have thought / may think you could make one out of a 6.0 litre Diablo which is both unlikely and a pointless exercise in any case ...

Yes i know, but if only they did.
Would you have to have a SVA test?

It would be far eaiser and cheaper to convert it to RHD than do a 6.0 conversion.

Using all the original mounting points and keeping all original parts you would not detractfrom the value whatsoever.

Diablo GTs were made in 1999 and 2000. If they have listed that as 1996, it's either a mistype or, at that price, they are trying to pass off a kit car as the genuine article.

yes it will need an sva test and you pay vat on the price of the car, plus the cost of shipping, i have just imported a 2008 clk black series so i am soon to find out if an sva and associated paperwork is tricky.

Hey Tony. Get your cheque book out. No VAT to pay, no import to pay. Not sure but as the GT is over 10 years old you won't need SVA

yes you are right the gt is over ten years old so no sva, i have imported from america, must be different rules.

just checked on vat, it reads if the tax is paid in the country of purchase no vat to pay on a used car, like the man says get your cheque book at the ready.

Unless I'm missing something (only had a cursory glance at the ad), it doesn't need an SVA as it's an EU car with the associated type approval and CoC, and over 10 years old. Nor would it be eligible for VAT and Duty as it's from within the EU.

Importing from outside the EU is different - then it'd attract VAT and Duty etc.

Less miles than your gt , less than 12 months older , right hand drive and in this country , better looking car , celebrity status ,rarer than the gt only one right hand 99 model roadster as opposed to 80 gt's made . And a saving of 50k over the gt you mention .I geuss he can ask what he wants . Obviously worth it to him anyhow . But you probably right though , he may not even want to sell at that price .

"Better looking car" i beg to differ, (beauty is in the eye of the beholder)
I also remember a blue Diablo roadster being sold as the only RHD,it was advertised in the Auto Trader some time ago http://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/CARS/news/37...
Link does not work, search on Google under Lamborghini Diablo for sale and it will appear, fourth one down (blue diablo sv roadster)

... which appears to be a car with a non-standard shaped bonnet, being a Diablo-GT-a-likey style item and also a non-standard front bumper plus, if you squint at the front numberplate, a suggestion of 'Am . . i Supercars' about it ... perhaps that blue car is one of those apparently very rare Diablos that were lost and then miraculously found in the far east having lost and gained bits of (not-really-proper) bodywork on the way and having the front diff. of the VT system disconnected thus creating a 2wd system eek

... there was supposed to be a 2wd Diablo SV Roadster in the range of the last 5.7 engined Diablos though very few SV Roadsters officially came to the UK - I know this as I worked with Lamborghini Great Britain at the time and designed the (very few ...) official brochures for the Diablos that were brought here in the late nineties. The VT and SV Roadsters had a 4-page spread all to themselves that year and the images used may well have been from either Roadster version though they were both touted as 530bhp by that time. The front bonnet and bumper were not at all similar to the GT in style and the car used in the brochure was very, very yellow indeed as Automobili Lamborghini SpA were not officially selling that shade of blue in that year biggrin

... I have a few copies of that brochure for sale, still with the original metal bolts that they were held together with and the same ultra-shiny pages - you, dear reader, can acquire one for a sum not too far away from a hundred of your local currency plus a bit of postage wink
