So... After not nearly enough careful consideration and alot of watching mp4-12c videos on you tube, I have bought the grey mclaren London car!! Am V excited!
I thought it was sold as it is not listed on PH now. Good one fella. Did you get anymore off in the end or did you get the sports exhaust?

The sports exhaust is being fitted soon and the car is mine later in the month. Once I have it there will be some action shots posted!! I just have to hope it fits in the garage now!
You have a great spec car with that sports exhaust. Did you take it for a test drive and how did it compare to the gt3I drove a similar car at the weekend, and tbh, I think that taking that one out in central London will not tell me much! The spec is v good and the half red interior is much more subtle than in the pics (and some outlandishness is allowed in a supercar after all!). I am almost certain it fits in the garage as it is only a tiny bit wider than the V12Vantage I had and I can get out into the centre of the double garage. If necessary it will have to live with a mate while I get the 2 doors converted into 1.
The gt3 is an amazing car and I have no bad thing to say about it. I will definitely miss the manual gearbox too. But I think, if you can, it is worth owning as many different cars as possible and experiencing as much as possible. It is not a practice run after all! I think the performance of the mclaren is even more accessible than that of the gt3 and the technology involved in making it fascinates me. I am sure that I will have a Porsche again, but for now I see v few cars that tick the boxes like the macca.
The V12V was a lovely car to look at and sit in. The noise from the V12 was quite something too, especially on start-up. It was very traction limited though and always felt a bit heavy. Given that the gt3 had alot less power (though obv weighed less too) there were almost no places that the Aston would be quicker. It also seemed delicate at times, as I do like driving at an angle wherever is safe, and I don't think it coped with that well! The 'box was also a bit cumbersome, but that said, a lovely car to own and an experience to sit behind such a marvellous engine. Sad fact is, no car has yet matched my old 360CS for pure driving pleasure and the smile it put on my face... hoping the mclaren comes close.
