I've now decided I'm going to keep my 3200 as I just cant find anything that does all it does & looks as good in my opinion.

I've been having a think about ways to make it better and more suited to me & my needs and so far have come up with:

1. Cruise Control
2. Armrests (sad I know)
3. sunroof
4. Slightly more power (only for vmax )
5. red brake calipers
6. steeringwheel gearchange
7. assetto corsa spec, ie slighly lower & stiffer.

How achievable are these (sunroof aside, wouldnt actually cut the car unless I knew it was someone VERY proficient) and what do you guys think ?

Sure you could paint your calipers without too much trouble ...

Craig,

Glad you're keeping it. Seriously trying to hang onto mine now that I'm planning to move, originally I was going to let it go, but I'm now looking at all options to hang onto it!

More power is possible

Leonardo conversion - ups output to around 420bhp I think. Used to be marketed in uk by caracalla - but not sure where they are now.

Andrew had an upgrade done to his car in italy - not sure if it was this one, but sounds similar.

Red calipers shoudl be possible pretty easily, paint yourself or pay someone to do them and get the stencils on there too.

Cruise control - can be fitted I'm sure, could cost a few bob though...

Exhaust (you missed it off the list!)

Good luck mate - and post your findings on here!

The best mod for a 4200 would be 3200 lights . . . don't know who, how or where though

Hi Craig

Glad to see you're keeping the car.

I've just driven 1500 miles in the US and I used cruise control a lot - mainly to avoid Officer Dibble as I didn't want aggro but I don't think it's that necessary. I didn't like the fact that the car used the gears to slow down on downhills with the revs shooting through the roof and then on steep mountain inclines, just as the car was naturally slowing into a hairpin the gears would drop and wa-hay - slam on the brakes!!! But perhaps mountain roads are not what cruise control was dsigned for .

Of course all the above was in a fairly naff car and I'd guess Maserati's would be a) better and b) cost an arm and a leg.

What about the Tubi exhaust? Wake up the neighbours.

Apparrently possible in america - cost around $10.000 I understand. (The salespeople at Maranellos mentioned to me that this is happening in the US - perhaps this opens up the possiblilty going forward for the boomerangs to come back on the next generation coupe?)
