Well I have to say it is fantastic , I have temporarily retired from racing as both of my boys are setting up their new lives in the UK and South Africa and need my support and finance. So Mrs Wison said, get something that will be more fun than the Jag XKR , so I did! What a motor! I was going to do Le Mans Historic /Classic as an adrenalin kick stop gap but we are going to do a European Tour instead ! Quick question, the manual is thin on required detail , what oil do you chaps put in it? It's had some fun in it's first 2000 miles of my ownership and needs a top up! I've seen a 2007 thread but wondered if there is an update? Jonny

I run a 2006 Coupe on MOTUL 5-40 fully synthetic.

The procedure outlined in the owners handbook for measuring the amount of oil already in the engine/oil tank ( dry sump system ) is quite specific, i.e. run the engine at normal temperature for 2 minutes at 2000 RPM. Switch off and take a reading on the dipstick.

Don't make the same mistake I did if you change the oil and filter yourself and overfill the tank.

Mine smoked like hell on start up and on the over run until the engine had burned off the excess. Also a hazard of over filling is causing the rear main crankshaft seal to leak. If this happens its a gearbox out job to access the seal and replace same !

Hope this helps.

Black Coupe with yellow callipers on carbon ceramics, absolutely love it! As one of my racing mates said, where do you go from here? Interestingly at 1400kg and 520 bhp it feels quicker than my TVR Cerbera GT, which is 1100kg and 495 bhp from a 4.7 V8. I used to race against Gallardos in the GT Cup, no wonder I couldn't get near them. it's the 4 wheel drive and massive braking potential plus the torque from the V10 and the width that allows the suspension to be so flat in the high speed bends. I have already spotted a ST racer in Belgium!! Going up to the race at Silverstone with the dealer, Sevenoaks, that I bought I from! Have to say they were great, a good purchasing experience for something that cost the same as my first house!! LoL!

That's the one! Love it! Best experience so far was coming out of a motorway service station at Cobham, parked it away from all the other cars, when I came back there was four cars parked behind it! Out of one car climbed two octaganarians! One of them said " we've been waiting here to listen to you start it up, you don't mind f we stand behind it d you? " I said that its a bit loud but the other replied " we're old a deaf, can you give it some beans so we can get the full effect! ". I did! Then the builders van started up and pulled up next to me and they said, we loved it! Thanks fr the two old boyswe were too shy to ask!!

The counter was the fat bloke in the Range Rover who was determined to run me up the arse in an average speed zone! Unfortunately for him, he ended up next to us in a traffic jam on the M25 on the passenger side, he undid his window and told my wife that I was a w@@@@r, she informed him otherwise and told him that if he had put a £5 in a pot for every pie he ate then he could have had one! Italian Nurse who trained in Liverpool don't mess with one of those!!!

I can't get over the extremes of reaction! LOL!

To date, not had a single negative reaction... Must be coz it's green lol!

Rangy chap jealous as he spent his money on a large wobbly gas guzzling family off roader as he needs the space for the school run ....
