What value can I put on value since the new value launched
Discussion
I'm confused with all the value and until now I thought poundland was the best value but I'm not so sure. But now the euro is down and the pound is up and so is the dollar. Should I discount the discount sellers and go premium or ask for a premium discount from the discounters?
My old car is now much more valuable than my new car but that's a bubble so should I twist or stick?? I'm so confused but at least Wales didn't win.
Now that is true value.
andrew?
P.s. My latest car is the best ever and much better than yours, even though I don't know what yours is. Oh yes and it's worth millions more now as it's a last of line red special one.....

Baldrick: I spent it.
Blackadder: You spent it? What could you possibly spend £400,000 on?
[Blackadder notices the massive turnip on the table]
Blackadder: Oh, no... oh God, don't tell me.
Baldrick: My dream turnip.
Blackadder: Baldrick, how did you manage to find a turnip that cost £400,000?
Baldrick: Well, its a GT3RS Scuderia Stradale Turnip
Blackadder: Will you eat it?
Baldrick: No way, it'll sit in the pantry until its worth £600,000
Blackadder: Still, its no 650s Turnip
Baldrick: Oh F*ck off

I pick up my 650s in 3 weeks and hopefully by then it'll be worth 37p,then I can stop losing sleep over the money it's going to tank!
Seriously, I really am bored with all this, buy them and enjoy them. If your fear of depreciation is greater than your joy of owning it then it's probably best to do something else with your money.

tbh, the zastava yugo is now where the smart money's at :
1. vastly underrated
2. incredibly rare as nobody bought them new
3. even more rare in rhd
4. available in rosso yugo
5. available with the incredibly rare manual gearbox and iconic knob
6. truly unbeatable combination of classic italian design and classic serbian build quality ( as copied by ron )
7. last of the normally aspirated cars
8. genuinely mechanical and organic feel to them : none of this electric nannying stuff
9. you may have noticed how rarely you see them nowadays, as canny dealers and far-eastern collectors are secretly buying them up and storing them
10. so much FUN to drive : you heard it here first
11. 2wd ( years ahead of lamborghini cottoning on that returning to the eighties would help sell five more cars )
12. really easy to clock
13. limited edition gto variants available with missing carpets, super-thin panels and extra noises
14. rumoured to be a green one somewhere, literally priceless if so
in short, a sure-fire appreciating classic, so grab a bargain whilst you still can

This thread has such an undercurrent running to it , I am the same red ferrari last of the line, I simply do not know what to do, I felt so safe parking it at Waitrose, but now with Waitrose being so valueless and every Tom Dick and Harry going there, I simply do not know what to do ? Should It be safer at Poundland and 99p stores now that so many more middle class, caring, kind people are frequenting these establishments, and especially now my 360 is almost worthless because of the new 488, Mike
Let's be honest here though, there are quite a few people on these here forums (and in this thread specifically, unsurprisingly) who have considerable wealth and so issues of depreciation and where one might be in a years time when trying to exit the market are mostly an irrelevance.
I think it's rather elitist to dismiss, or worse poke fun at, any concerns that those less fortunate - relatively speaking given we're talking about people in the market for a Ferrari - might have. Values have gone a bit crazy on several models in recent years, and in some (most?) cases it is these models that are attainable for the merely modestly well off, the folk who are quite likely looking at their first Ferrari, so I don't think it's unreasonable for people to wonder where these values are going to go in the future. I don't think it's unreasonable in this context that these people might be thinking of these models either as an investment and/or what the consensus might be on where values will go in 2015.
The irony of course is that if the values of these successive models - e.g. 355, 360, 430, 458, etc were all trending downwards there would likely be hardly any discourse about values, because they would be predictable.
Granted there have been a lot of threads recently about values, and it does get a bit wearisome. But I think it's worse to be mean spirited towards genuine enthusiasts whose only crime is not having stratospheric wealth and who simply don't want to take a bath on their dream car. You can ignore these threads (and their posters).
Just my 2p, flame suit on.

The value of these is only going one way. This is the last of the value generation before all the modern value came in. Get it while you can still afford value.Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
