Nice. Seriously liking that. Surely its worth more than £50k ????? Unless its had a big off ?????
It's a somewhat out of date race car suitable for higher end club racing, but not top end. Will cost an arm and leg to run competitively, but even then only competitive in middle classes as there will be "current models" in top classes - see GT Cup that they reference. It's a supply and demand thing; very few people want these and the costs of running it doing it's (only) racing thing are huge vs the cost of buying.
I've been there and done it with a 996 GT3 Cup car when the 997 Cup was already in the hands of the well to do gentleman racer. In that instance I bought it for £20k and sold it several years later for £30k. Those prices were much much lower than the road variants as there was such a narrow market. I had great fun and it's running cost was much less than a flappy paddle fezza with lots more electronics, but still not a cheap game.
Hi Jimmy agree the gearbox is the main issue , but to Buy the Porsche equivalent is 3 to 4 times more ( GT3R 165 -235 K range ).
To drive it is very nice car stable well mannered great into and mid corner .\Both Paul and I found it a pleasant experience after years of Porsche .....did 2.05 at Silverstone in 2010 so OK on pace .
We will have a few races and see.....
