Ferrari P4/5: price revealed
Owner wants to drive it not show it
James Glickenhaus has revealed more about the thinking behind the gorgeous, curvy Ferrari P4/5, which we reported on Monday this week (see story link below). He carved it out of a Ferrari Enzo at a cost of $4 million.
It turns out the initiative for the car came from Pininfarina. The design house approached Glickenhaus, and asked him if he was interested in commissioning a one-off car. Glickenhaus said he'd be interested in a car that looked like a P4 but built on an Enzo chassis.
Developing the street-legal Enzo-based P4/5 soon took up the man's time -- and that of his friend and personal mechanic, Sal Barone, who has restored Glickenhaus' car collection. Both spent considerable time in Turin as a result.
Glickenhaus reckoned that he got good value for the money he spent -- and that he'll be at only the Concours d'Elegance at Pebble Beach and the Paris Motor Show because he wants to spend more time enjoying driving the car.
That's the spirit!

see 1-100kms in very close to 3 seconds and touch 240mph with stability. (I speed I personally am not planning to reach but who knows what my Grand Kids might attempt one crazy day)

I agree with the post above - get it used and get it mucky...!Each to his own, James, and like the rest of the admirers, I'm still dusting the gravel off my jaw from my first sight of your car. And there's no questioning the technical efficacy. It is only that such a stunning job has been done to create a modern interpretation of one of the most beautiful cars ever designed, it comes as a surprise that the exhausts are rather less than smoothly integrated.

Hi
In real life they some how do look different as does the entire car. Another issue is that until we see how hot the exhaust gets the wing in high downforce mode we're preceeding with caution re: tweaking their shape.

Thanks for the vid. Looks better when moving methinks.
